I am so freakin' sick of the damn drs in this town. They all treat me like crap and insult me and I am tired of it. My list of complaints is long and i'm sure no one cares but I gotta vent about this newest insult. I am diabetic and see an endocrinologist (he specializes in diabetes care). I had an appointment with him yesterday. I had asked why insulin perscriptions expire and he said because those people need to be controlled and we have to share the road with them. So trying not to get mad, I mentioned that my grandmother had actually given up driving because when she was diagnosed diabetic she was told she could go blind and she worried that something could happen while she was on the road. So he asked if she did andI said yes but only 3 days before she died, 30 years later. He responed "well I guess they were right then" and laughed. What a jerk! I am so mad at him right now! If he weren't the only endo in 100 miles I'd complain.
My dr is a jerk too . I have medicaid and I have been seeing the same dr for 3 years and hes a pediatrician ( i couldnt find a medicaid dr that took people my age) .My son used to go to him too but I switched my son to a different dr because he never did his job right. Well i went to see him a few weeks ago because I had a ear infection that made the whole side of my face swell up , it was really painfull so he gave me tylonal 3 but im allergic so i asked him to write for somthing without codine and he went off on me saying " i dont feel comfortable giving people LIKE YOU stronger meds" I felt soo offended , in the 3 yrs i have gone to him i have never asked him for anything i didnt need , I am not like that. Then he told me he wassnt gonna give me drugs because I got beat up. BTW I didnt get beat up and he knows it because hes the one that told me it was swollen because of my ear infection. I am changing drs soon and made a complaint against him.
I agree with you they think they know so much. Like being a doctor makes them experts in everything in life. My doctor is annoying also. Every-time I go for motrin they tell me I have to ween my kids. In fact my doctor told me again yesterday that I need to ween my kids right now, saying that they should be eating mostly food now. My kids do eat mostly food. I came to the doctor for motrin, and for him to help me with my back not advice on how to raise my kids. I hate that they think they can say anything to us and we are suppose to just smile and nod. How would he like it if I told him how to live his life. Then he said he would not proscribe motrin unless I weened, like its really that easy. SO I told him to look in his little book and he will see that its okay for me to take motrin he disagreed but looks in his little book. Sure enough I was right. He admitted I Was right then left. Maybe I should be a doctor. *sigh*

It's just a box! I had lone literally scream at me because I had been misdiagnosed and then got pregnant. He actually had me crying hysterically, I always seem to have assholes or idiots for drs.
Oh I'm sorry that happened to you. In my experience there are a lot of nice doctors out there, but there are some that are jerks too. When I was pregnant with my DD the doctor I went to was such a jerk I was literally in tears most of the way home. I never went back to him and ended up finding a very nice doctor. Some of them are snobs, act like because they are doctors (and probably wealthy) that everyone that comes to them is low class and stupid. Like I said there are great ones too, I love the family doctor we have now, but I know how you feel.

Just curious why are you going to a doctor to get Motrin - it's over the counter.

Is it in your charts that ur allergic to codeine? if it is then thats grounds for a law suit. a mal-parctice lawsuit. Im a nursing student and we just finished this and its a serious thing. depending on the dose he could have killed you. I wouldnt take it lightly. Even though you seemed as though you didnt take the meds. if he prescribed it to you then he is likely doing the same to other patients. Whats gonna happen when he does kill a patient or cause them to stroke out. Please follow threw with your complaint and see if there is anything further you can do. He could have left your child with out a mother.

I had been misdiagnosed as a type 2 diabetic 3years prior and given treatment for that and as such my diabetes remained out f control. Then last fall I got very sick and almost died from the wrong treatment which finally clued those idiots in that I was type one. When I got pregnant less than a month later I went to the screaming guy. All he saw was that I had high sugar and was pregnant. He never actually read my chart so he started screaming that I'd already had 3 ears to fix "this crap" and hadn't and "you may as well just kill your baby now, since you obviously don't give a damn." My husband had to
tell him multiple times what had happened while he continued to scream at me. It took 45 minutes to get him to read the chart.
