70% of American Adults are overweight?

I am watching Dr. Phil right now and he just stated this. I knew the obesity in this country was high but I never realized it was that high! I am always worked hard to trying not to be overweight especially since there are a few people in my family who are overweight. I run about 10-15 miles a week and eat somewhat healthly.

What do you ladies do to try to stay fit?

I try to do a little cardio every day.  It's not just for weight, it's for sanity!  Gotta get that energy out and get my endorphin kick!

I don't do anything *hides head in shame* I know I should. For  while I was doing the 30 day shred, but just to tone up. I'm lucky to have skinny genes and can eat what I want when i want without any problem. I know that will change the older I get and I'm seing it right now in dh, he's getting a spare tire and it drives me nuts!

We do eat pretty healthy though. My mom was real big on health foods so alot of that has stuck with me, though lately I've been eating alot of crappy snack foods right before bed and I know it's going to catch up to me sooner or later.

The only other thing is we're pretty active outdoors hiking and playing sports and stuff

Being healthy is very important. I want to live the longest I can and even though I'm skinny I still could get heart disease, diabetes or anything else like that. So I've been thinking of trying to figure out a way me and dh can exercise together, but it's hard with the kiddos always under our feet.

i stay within my calories (most the time, lol) and i'm doing p90x right now.  so i work out 6-7 days a week for 45-90 minutes a day.  i'm curious where he got those statistics, though.

Well lets see I eat healthy for the most part, watch my fat intake, eat lots of veggies and fruits. I work out daily, and take vitamins. Yeah that whole statistic is not surprising, its sad really.

I try to eat healthy. I have stopped working out, but my new goal is to start again next week(after a test I have).

I have never been overweight but I am absolutely out of shape. I used to work as a nutrition counselor and it's really sad that so many people are overweight. I actually counseled kids who were so overweight, they had high BP, cholesterol and Type 2 diabetes. One girl was only 12 yrs old.

Well I am obese, so this really isn't for me...but there are people who are HEALTHY and weigh 5-10 lbs more than is 'suggested' for their height, and they are considered overweight. There are also people who are 'the right size' who are unhealthy because of their weight...or because they are trying to stay at their weight. I think it is very subjective.

As for what I do...not much at the moment... But when I am not in a slump, I exercise and watch what I eat (meaning how much)

My husband and I are both trying to lose about 20 lbs each (I'm 5'7 155 lbs, and he's 5'9 200 lbs).

my husband and I  go to the gym two days on, one day off and do an hour of cardio.  Monday morning I start CORE classes (abs).

i run as well 3 or 4 days a week, lift weights, run up and down the stairs,kick-box anything really!! i love working out and want to be a personal trainer. i don't really care for doctor phill but yeah that is really bad. but not surprising when you just see ppl on an everyday basis that are overweight. i will never let myself get even 10lbs heavier (unless im pregnant of course!)but that will never happen again lol..im content with 3 kids!!
