So I went to the health department today to get the shot exemption form

And they were giving out free H1N1 shots! I didn't know this and the irony kind of hit me. I saw a friend of mine there, with a kid the same age as mine. She was getting her kids the swine flu shot and I was getting an exemption form from shots for the preschool. I have to admit...I second guessed myself. I wonder if I'm making the right choice.

My son is currently up to date on his immunizations. Had I been more informed, he wouldn't have had every shot on time, as he has so far. I'm not sure how many more he has left, or if most of the damage is done. I think that I will either delay what's left or maybe choose to skip some. It's not that I'm entirely against shots but I think they could make better vaccines and space them out more.

Anyone not vax?

Anyone not getting H1n1? Are you worried about your kid getting H1N1?

We are not geting the H1N1 and we are not worried about catching it either.

I will remain mum on the rest because vaccines always seem to provoke debate on here. :-)

We have our son on a delayed vax schedule, he only gets one a month.  He is allergic to eggs so will not be receiving H1N1 before we found out he had an egg allergy though, we were still not planning on doing the H1N1.

We are not getting the H1N1 or the regular flu vaccine.

As for the rest of the vaccines, well that's another post entirely. :-)

We stopped vaxing after all 3 of my boys had various delays -- especially in speech.  My daughter only had one round of shots & is far more advanced than the boys were at this age.

We aren't getting any flu shots either.  We're taking precautions - soap & water, GermX, staying home more, etc.  My hubby goes to work & I make a weekly grocery run... that's about it for the time-being.  I try to make my grocery run after hubby gets home so I don't have to take the kids -- they touch EVERYTHING!!  LOL  They are starting to get a little stir crazy, though.. may have to break down & make a playdate.

The only worry I have is us catching it at an inconvenient time (Thanksgiving, Christmas, I have a release party to go to 11/22, etc.)  If/When we catch it, we'll just do like we always do when we're sick --- live on the couch watching movies & drinking Nyquil & Pepto until it's over.

I almost WANT us all to go ahead & catch it to get it over with!  LOL  At least then we wouldn't smell like GermX 24/7

Do you follow a certain schedule?

I regret having vaccinated my kids up until now.  We won't be getting any more, I'm pretty sure.  No swine flu shot here.  We just recovered from it.  It wasn't that bad, and I have asthma!!

Lol, I understand.  Sometimes I wonder if it would be better to catch it early in the season? I don't know but is it possible it will mutate and gets worse as the season goes on? These are just things I wonder about.
