Any moms out there that SO works the over night shift? My DH works 6PM-6AM....We have downsized to one vehicle so at night, it is just me and DD all alone ;(....I get spooked out easily so I am up quite a bit at night...then DD wakes up to eat, I get so lonely that I play with her just so she WONT fall back to sleep and leave me alone..lol...So, I was wondering who else is in this situation? I log onto CM usually every weekday night at about 1am like clockwork!

Nope I use to for the years my son was a few months old until he was 4.

Hubby would get lonely sometimes, but that is also why our son slept with him from about a year old until he was 4. They would snuggle down like peas in a pod.

My DH works from 11 30 pm to 8am. I am always paranoid. We actually barely see each other because he gets home at 8 and goes to bed at 1. Sucks.

Yes, my husband works shift work.  So maybe 2 weeks out of the month he is on nights 6 pm - 6 am. And the other 2 weeks are 4 pm - 12 am or 2 pm - 2 am.  Sometimes this varies BUT I hate when he works the midnights.  I too am up so late.  I get spooked so easily as well (this goes from having things happen in my past as well).

My dh works from 4 pm to 1 am i usually get the kids to bed and lie on the couch and wait for him to come home, it gets lonely!  But i know how you feel, when we moved to OR just over 4 yrs ago we ended up homeless and sleeping in the car with 3 kids and DH worked graves security and THAT was so scary!  We tried to stay wherever he was but it wasnt always possible so sleeping in a Walmart parking lot was  it for us mocst nights!   It wasnt fun but it only lasted 3 weeks and then we got into a family shelter who helped us!

My hubby works a 2nd job for extra income as a pizza delivery guy, he's gone until like 4 am!  The girls and I get lonely too.  Got to love cafemom for those boring weekend nights.  It was a just a few short years ago, I was out every fri and sat night!  Aah memories!!

My hubby works 11:00 to at least 7:30 Sun-Thurs... and usually Fri as well.  He usually works 6 days a week, but this last week, it was 7 days!  Thats when I'm glad I have a 3 yo that still sleeps with me!  He's a big snuggler!

It took me awhile to adjust when my husband worked grave shift. I did like having my own bed at night but I was paranoid as well. Our oldest at the time, he didn't seem bothered by it. When my DH went to second shift, it wasn't too bad..saw him in the morning and by the time he came home, it was time for bed. Now he works day shift and it's just too dang early to wake up but it's nice when he's home a decent hour.
