My dad has always been a worry-wort, and although I know it's coming from a good place, he needs to realize that I'm not a little girl anymore, and I can make my own decisions!
His latest thing is the Swine Flu. He's freaked out about it, and everytime I talk to him, he rants on and on about how it's mutating, and so many people are dying from it, and blah blah blah. I told him that more people die from the regular flu every year than the swine flu, and the media is just making a huge deal out of it because it's "new" and he tells me that I'm wrong. Ugh, whatever.
Today he called and asks, "Have you gotten the vaccination yet?!" I said no, because I read up on the stuff they put in it, and it doesn't seem too healthy or safe. He tells me that I'm being swayed by my "liberal friends" and that DS and I should get it, especially because I'm pregnant. I told him that no, I'm not being swayed by anyone.... I've looked at the facts.
I'm just sick of hearing about this from him. He's not a doctor, so ZIP IT! lol
Anyone else have overbearing parents?? What's your opinion about the vaccination, and have you gotten it?
We had Swine flu , it was actually a confirmed case because my daughter has an immunno suppressive disease, they sent hers out for cross typing. It was the worst 14 days of our lives. My daughter got sick first, then I got sick , then my S/O got sick. We still dont feel totally well. We all got it from an ER visit after an accident. It was the sickest we have been in a long time , but it could have been way worse. Prior to us getting sick , we were not going to get the H1N1 Vaccine , mostly because , my daughter has a severe egg allergy , and any flu shot could kill her.
