I saw another post and it made me wonder: Am I the only mommy who doesn't get anything for Christmas from there DH/SO?

It's not like DH wouldn't want to get me anything it's just that we cant afford it. December is a really hard month for us because of Christmas and we have 4 kids birthdays in December.

I don't care about getting gifts at christmas, just want the kids to have a good day.

The last three years we have forgone getting each other xmas gifts because money is tight. We would rather spend it on the kids. And honestly it doesn't phase me. I love watching my kids open stuff and I would rather be able to get them more to open then to get something I can just buy myself later on when we have more money.

DH and I have been married for almost 6 years and we have never exchanged gifts on Christmas because of financial reason, so i know how you feel. We have two kids that we know that we need to make Christmas special for.

No we pretty  much skip each other for christmas time. It makes that holiday a bit more affordable, and we always treat ourselves to things now and again anyhow.

Every other year or so if there's something one of us wants badly we will get it for them, last year I got a stand mixer and he got a table saw.

Your not the only one. We havent gotten far enough ahead just yet to splurge on eachother plus through out the year if we need something or want something bad enough we'll get it. Like for my birthday this pass summer & for his bonus check I got a couple hundred dollars to shop for some new clothing which I needed really bad.

i've gotten a gift from my dh every year we have been together... sometimes more than one, depending... but i am horrible at waiting so i usually sucker him into letting me open it early lol we are lucky, though we only have two kids right now and they are both summer babies so we have the opportunity to save up for xmas

We only do it if we have the extra money after the kids are all taken care of so it seems about every 2-3 years we will do it usually something small occasionally something big and occasionally a big family gift will be given.

Same here, but to me I don't care if he makes me something at home. Or a day to yourself card or a day for just the two of us, back rub, cook and clean supper. It doesn't have to be store bought!

I feel the same way as long as my boys have a good day .   I don't even remember the last time i ever got a gift from anybody.
