SD is 33wks pregnant and all of us are excited!! The past month or so she has had high BP and now the DR is talking of a possible c-section or induction. If her BP doesn't drop down by Thanksgiving they want to get baby out soon. Is that a good idea or should her and I talk them out of it?? I've never dealt with high BP so I'm not sure.

I am a proud mommy of 6 beautiful children 2 heavenly angels, and a 16yr old SD I CIO, formula feed, forward face, circumsize, use epidurals, c-sections from now until I'm done with kids, Child led weaninf of bottles and pacis,, divorced and loving my new man, and I don't care what you think of me! Is she doing NST? Also if they plan on inducing or a c-section early like that, the baby would be premature, correct?

Have they discussed nutrition with her? The Brewers diet, anything to lower her BP? I swear doctors are morons. Rushing w/ cesareans and inductions when a lifestyle change *could* help.

I dunno the situation but if she's done nothing to combat her high BP (such as diet changes, excercise etc) then it could be explained by that.

I don't think high BP necessarily warrants a cesarean, especially if they haven't tried ways to lower it naturally.

But depending on her doctor she may just get a cesarean.

what's NST?  (I'm probably going to feel stupid, aren't I?)

35-36wks, which I had my youngest at 36wks and it isn't too bad. What is a NST? Like I've said, never dealt with this before. They don't want to give her drugs right off that bat so they've pulled her out of school for time being hoping itll bring her BP down.

Does she have pre-eclampsia or just high blood pressure? Is she on any medication for the blood pressure?

When I was pregnant with my son, I developed high blood pressure. They put me on medication for it, and that kept it at a normal level. It didn't develop into pre-eclampsia. I was able to deliver vaginally after my water broke naturally.

High BP during pregnancy can be very dangerous.  Google preeclampsia. Good luck to your SD.

Never heard of it at all. If it has to do with the organic health foods or something I can't afford that.

I dunno the situation but if she's done nothing to combat her high BP (such as diet changes, excercise etc) then it could be explained by that. They're pulling her out of school to keep her stress down as well hoping itll help.

But depending on her doctor she may just get a cesarean.  She kind of wants one, but I kind of want her to have that birth experience first.
