Anyone here considered to be "The Classic Homemaker"?
Anyone love to take full care of your family, keep your house clean and organized, cook, bake, always into family events?
I would consider myself to be one. Am I the only one?
That would be me. I love being that. I really do. However, a lot of my 'feminist' friends think that I'm putting a lot of women to shame by not reaching my full potential. Isn't that what the feminist movement was about? Letting women decide if they wanted to be a CEO or Betty Crocker...it was about choices. Ugh. It's a irritating subject to me.
I try to be. Dishes and cleaning...check! Baking and cooking----my skills are a bit subpar. But I am trying!!

To an extent yes, I don't love to clean and cook all the time ( I have to cook a little extra in my opinion, my kids have food allergies and my husband does not have a 9 to 5 type job so I make two different dinners a night ) that can get really old sometimes, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. And I feel better when my house is cleaned so I do clean every day and try to keep things tidy, but I try to have balance with it all (kids, husband and home) and that means that he helps out too and that it's not always spotless and sparkling. And family events are incredibly important to me so if it meant the dishes sat for a little while to go outside or play then I'm fine with that too :)

I know what you mean! I come from a family of work-aholics. I've always dreamed of being a Homemaker. I always told ppl I wanted to grow up to be a Mom. NOONE in my family understands that. They all think I'm wasting my life.
Nope not me! Or at least im not not aware of it if i am... but i do everything on my own at home and usually cook everything from scratch, but thats just because my children are so young.. in a couple of years they will be in charge of some of the chores.. im just waiting..
Not me! I don't mind cleaning because I like a clean house and it's kind of relaxing to me and it burns calories...
But anything else - no. I don't even cook and I'm a shitty organizer. My husband comes home from work and cooks every night, and he cooks me breakfast every weekend. He arranges everything in the refrigerator and pantry too..
I suppose I'm a pretty shitty homemaker. *shrugs*
I am a traditional homemaker. I love cooking, cleaning, and taking care of my husband and children. I am a big believer in organization. I enjoy every second of my life.
I am a Private School sending, Vaccinating, Non spanking, Nightmare Cuddling, Dessert Giving, Homework Helping, Bedtime Kissing, Book Reading, Academic pushing Mum. I believe in the benefit of organized after school activities. I believe in spoiling my children. I believe that I have seen the village and I do not want it raising my child - I will do that, Thank You. I believe that a woman's place is in the home taking care of her house, children and husband. I am submissive and proud, my husband is head of my home. I am a proud, traditional Roman Catholic, as is my husband... Yes we are teaching our daughter that The Church is the only Church. Aimee
