Apparently Gavan was NOT having a very good day.  The teacher was SURE to tell me that he did not do it out of spite or anger but thought it was FUNNY so please take it easy on him.  So I ask " What did he do?"  She said please don't be too upset but Gavan was in the little boys bathroom with a few of his friends and thought it would be funny so he "PEED" on 2 of his friends in the boys bathroom".   I WAS MORTIFIED.  DO YOU LAUGH, CRY OR JUST BE OUTRAGED?  oR DISGUSTED?  I called my husband ( who was home for the day) and asked him to go and pick GAvan up from school and have a talk with him.   How would you have handled the situation?  Gavan is 4 years old and was in the boys bathroom with a few other boys.  I am really torn on how to punish him for his bad decisions.  He lost his drum set and many other privileges.

  • My first reaction would to have been furious...but then I would have to remember he is only 4 years old...I would have a serious talk with him and make sure he understood he was not funny ...that it was unacceptable...then I think the punishment you chose would be good.....

  • i sure wouldn't be laughing... if it were my son he'd be in deep trouble. Loss of privilages sounds like a good punishment mama.

  • I think having a talk with him and the loss of priveleges is good for his age.

  • Beat his little butt raw!! Sorry saw your post and just had to say something! Luv ya!

Oh and he's a boy! Boys do gross and dirty things. Nadine's DAUGHTER scratched her butt and wiped her fingers on Luke's face! Kade does gross boy things all the time. It's hard to punish when ultimately it was innocent. It would be different if he did it out of anger. Again luv ya!

  • Honestky, I think this is just one of those things that little boys do.  No, not always, thank goodness.  But they're obsessed with the penis and what it does along with butts and what they do, the noises they make, etc.  When my son was in preschool he got in trouble for smacking another kid in the bathroom with his penis.  NO idea where he got the idea from because he doesn't watch anything remotely like that on TV.  But the teachers were reassuring that it was just one of those things little boys find amusing.  Pretty darn embarassing, though, isn't it?

  • Boys are so wierd.

The thing is, they do things like that-- I mean seriously, even the grown up ones.  They get potty humor, I mean, boys can entertain themselves for hours just farting.  I wouldn't totally stress out about it, just be very firm that it was not OK- but its really not a huge deal.

Don't worry, next month he'll figure out about mooning.

  • I work at an Elementary School.  This happens every year.  Very normal.  Gross and disgusting, but normal.

When I talked with the office manager at his school she kept trying to tell me that this kind of behavior is "common" for boys his age but it is just difficult because Gavan has never had this kind of behavior before.  It seems like in the past week he has REALLY started pushing his boundaries.  I guess it is just one of those things...
