I never know what to get my mom for Christmas, so this year isn't unusual. We've gotten her jewelry (which she has PLENTY of), clothes....just anything we could think of. I swear, moms are the hardest to shop for!! At least my mom is. I'd also like to get my stepmom something special, because she IS my second mom, and I love her. Any original ideas, that aren't horribly expensive?? I've thought about getting my mom an ornament from Walmart, they sell them in the picture department, where they etch a picture in glass. But I don't know. And I have NO idea what to get my step-mom, she likes the simple things.

ANY IDEAS WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!! Thanks ladies!

EDIT: I forgot to add, I am NOT creative, unfortunately!

  • I never know what to get my mom either.  I can never think of anything original that I haven't bought her in the past.  Here are a few things I have gotten for her before:

-One of those digital photo frames.  I uploaded a bunch of pictures of the family onto it before I gave it to her.  You can get those for $50 and up, I believe.

-Fun board games, if your mom likes that kind of thing.  I have bought her 'The Game of Things', 'Loaded Questions', 'Apples to Apples', and a few others over the years...

-Spa at home items.  Ulta has a lot of nice stuff she can use to pamper herself.  I can't think of specifics off the top of my head but you can check out their website.  I know I got some Brookstone stuff from there and it was really nice.

And bump so I can see suggestions from some other moms! :)

  • We had this problem for Mothers/Fathers day for our parents, so I made them a CD with music and pictures of all the grandkids. They loved it, and they loved having something different that we put some thought into. I was wanting to do this for my grandma this year, but she just recently got a CD player and is still trying to figure out if it plays records lol.

  • Or buy tickets for both of you to go see a show if you have something nearby....I live in the Chicago suburbs and we have gone to see Les Miserables, Fiddler on the Roof, Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, etc.....

I know Trans Siberian Orchestra is doing shows in my area and they have $25 tickets.  Check Ticketmaster to see if you can find anything good in your area.
