My kids are 2 1/2 and 1 (will be 1 on Thursday actually). My 2 1/2 year old was very jealous when her sister was born. She would try to hit her and really didn't like her. Now Madison (oldest) is usually nice to Isabelle(youngest) and will share attention. All of a sudden, Isabelle has became completely jealous. Any time I try to spend with Madison she hates. Today I had them both up on the chair with me cuddling them and Isabelle tried to grab madison's hair and pull it and she put a big scratch on my face. She was so mad. I told her no and set her down and not two seconds later she was trying to pull Madison's hair again when Madi got down. Ugh.. here comes the second round of jealousy I guess.

My face hurts...lol

I love my girls, Madison and Isabelle and my husband Sam more than anything in this world! :)

oh wow! thats crazy...my kids fight now but they are a little older...and its usually the younger one that starts it..my oldest is a little sweetie and my middle child thinks that everything is his and that he should get his way all the time..they are 4 and 2...it drives me so crzy when they fight tho...

usually my 2 yr old gets time out when he acts up and that usually works for awhile..

Owie, Momma. That looks like it hurt. *hugs*

My two youngest are two years apart and even now at the ages of 4yo and 6yo they are jealous of one another. They aren't physical about it anymore, but the yelling/fighting can be heard from down the street (at least it seems that way).

It does get better, but the rivalry will never go away. You're doing the right thing by putting the aggressor out of the situation, but maybe next time you could put her farther out of the situation. A packnplay, perhaps?

My kids have never been jealous of eachother. There's about the same age difference in my kids too. Here's a *bump* for you!

my 7 year old step daughter is very jealous, she just isnt violent about it, but she is so coniving (sp) and ANY time DH is paying attention to me or my son, or talking about the baby on the way, she tries to jump in and interupt or tug on DH or what ever, I am no dummy and tell her she needs to stop and of course then she feeds off of it because DH always says "quit being mean, and just leave her alone" which pisses me off, so I tell her how it is when he is not home, Im not talking about punishment but I talk to her about it.

Ouch. My 14 month old tries to hurt me now when something doesn't go her way. I also have a niece and a nephew my niece (6 years old) has been very jealous of DD since she was born. Last night DD wanted on the couch and my niece took her foot and shoved her off of it! Before me and DH could grab DD she got 2 hand fulls of my nieces super long hair and pulled it as hard as she could. I guess she won't be kicking her anymore. I don't promote that kind of behavior and I did scold DD for doing that but I also scolded my niece for being mean and I made her sit in the corner until my sister came to get her. She is 6 years old and she knows better!

I feel like they are twins sometimes! They only have 11 lbs weight difference and can wear the same size shirts. LOL.
