Update 11/09/09- We have finally been released from the hospital. Gerry is still not feeling well but they said it make take another week for him to be back on game. As long as he does not keep losing fluids both ways he should be fine. If he starts refusing to drink anything and starts vomiting again, we will have to go back. He was a strong little boy for dealing with an IV for 36 hours. He kept trying to eat the tubing. He is finally up to playing and babbling again which tells me he must be feeling better. :::sigh::: My daughter is also feeling better as well and is very upset that she can't go to school today (she is the golden letter of the week). I told her she can go back tomorrow as long as she doesn't run a fever today. She hasn't had one since sunday morning (at least that is what I was told from her grandmother.) Well... I hope never have to deal with having two kids sicker then dogs at the same time again. I felt horrible for leaving my daughter with someone else while she was sick to be with my son in the hospital. Thank you everyone for the support. Stay healthy and don't forget to tell your kids to wash their hands.

update 11/07/09 evening- i am doing this from my phone so please exuese any typos. My son was admited for dehydration. He will be here for at least 24 hours. They are testing for the rota virus. My daughter tested positive for the flu and staying with her dads grandma since I cant be in two places at once. We should be able to do that as moms.

My son has been vomiting and had horrible diahreea since tues and has already been to the er twice to be hooked up to fluids. I finally got him into the doctor along with my daughter who is running a 102 fever and coughing (I think she has the flu). I am waiting for the doctor to call me back with my sons blood results and my daughters flu results. I have a feeling my son is dehydrated again! They said if he is he will be hospitalized. This is a lot to deal with at the moment as my fiance and I both work full time and have missed alot of work this year to take our son to and from doctors visit for his helmet. :::sigh::: i just needed to vent.

I am a 23 year old mother to Jaidyn, a daughter born 01/07/04 who is my angel, I had her at 17 and assume responsiblity of her with ease. I belived she saved me from a very dark road. To this day she is very smart and very straight forward, and Gerry a son born 02/26/09 who is a miracle baby we thought we would never be able to concieve. He had Craniosynostis on the Sagittal Suture, Diagnosed May 13, 2009, Surgery date June 2, 2009, Counting down to when he doesn't have to wear his helmet on 02/26/2010. I am in love with my fiance Jake who I am going to marry July 10, 2010 . I am a baby-wearing, going to try ERF, tried to BF but is now FF, pro-life with the exceptions in medical risk, incest, rape, and extreme situations, but don't judge your choices, public schooling, circumsied my son and could care less what you do with your son, a firm beliver in your child, your choice, was a teen-mom who graduated with a bachlor's degree in Accounting in May 2008 and is currently working on a Master's in Business Administration. I can't stand liars, drug-users, child abusers, and deatbeat parents who refuse to take care of their children. Don't tell me how to raise my kids and I won't tell you how to raise yours.

Poor baby :(  I think I would probably take him into the ER again he probably needs more fluids at least.  I would think they'd be able to do something for him! Poor mommy!  I hope he gets better soon!

It is so hard to see your child sick. My daughter has been sick since Sunday. I hope that your son is feeling better real soon. Sounds like they should have kept him at the hospital instead of sending him home. Hang in there.

If he's dehyrdrated and still vomiting etc. then chances are the hospital is a good place for him to be, hard as it is on us mommies to see that happen. Did they test him for the rotovirus? I hope he starts feeling better soon!

Oh sweetie,

I am sooo sorry!!!  It is so hard when our babies are sick and especially when it is serious enough that they need to be hospitalized!! :(  My son got REALLY, REALLY sick last year and would NOT stop throwing up.  He too got extremely dehydrated and had to be hospitalized for 5 days.  Rotavirus was actually one of the things they tested him for.  I know, it is very, very, very difficult.  Try and stay strong and keep positive.  It will pass and the IV (if they have given him when) will help ALOT.  If you want to chat feel free to PM me.  Hugs!!!
