Question about a preemie I'M CONFUSED

A friend of mine had her son on Thursday night.  He was born 12 weeks early.  What confuses me is that he was 2 lbs 13 oz and 15 in.  Is it just me or is that HUGE for only being 27 or 28 weeks?

That sounds about right.  My DD was born 8 weeks early and weighed 3.5 lbs and I had IUGR so she was on the small side

according to that it's about right, maybe a bit big but not ginourmous.

Sounds about right, around 2 pounds something.

Wow, I never thought that they were that big at that age.  I'm praying for the baby as he has a trach right now.  He does seem to be okay as far as I've heard.

my son was 12 weeks early and he was 1 pound 12 ounces, BUT he had stopped growing ( we think) at around 26 weeks. I had IUGR and a list of other problems so he was small for his gestational age.

my twins were 8 weeks early & they were 4lbs 13ozs and 4lbs 15ozs. i was told throughout my pregnancy they would be about 7-8 pounds if they went to term.

They told me at 24 weeks my baby weighed 2 pounds 6 ounces (according to the ultrasound).

my kiddos were 2 months early and weighed 3 and 4 lbs.

2lbs is about right for such an early baby!

my daughter was born at 31 weeks and was 3 lbs 10 oz
