How old was your baby when you pierced their ears?
Where did you get it done at?
What helped them with the pain?
Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!
DD was 6 weeks. The family pediatrician did it. She didn't cry or even react when it was done. Her earlobes were pink for a few minutes and he dabbed on a bit of alcohol once the earring were in, but that was it. No sign of any pain at all and no infection later.
you can get them done after they get their 3 month shots. Claries, icings, tattoo parlors, and walmart will do them. I think its 20 bucks at clairs. tylonol i supose would work for pain. But as long as they stay clean there shouldnt be any issues

as someone who used to do it, i'd find a store and ask to meet the person most comfortable doing babies. some of the woman have a harder time getting it straight with a wiggleing baby. Yes everyone can do it, doesnt mean that everyone is comfortable enough or has done it before.
oh and see if you can find a place that will do both at the same time, lots less stress then baby crying in between ears.

my older daughter had hers done at 6 months, and my younger dd (8 months) had hers done two days ago. they both let out one good wail when the second one was done, but it was over as soon as I turned them around and gave them a hug.
my older dd's got infected because that ear was always rubbing against my arm when I fed her. hopefully we won't have the same issue with the baby.
as for the "pain", it's not much more than a pinch (like a shot, really). it might be a bit tender, but I only gave her tylenol one time about a half hour before we had it done. she hasn't complained about it since, so I'm assuming it doesn't bother her too much.
