Calling all Car Seat Advocates!

I have a friend who is looking to get her son a new car seat. She wants a convertable that has a good RF weight limit as well as FF. She can't afford much at all but she needs a safe seat.

I did my research on here and found the Marathon was the best fit for us but she can't spend that much. But I heard some others are good and rather inexpensive.

I love our True Fit.  It can RF to 35 lbs, FF to 65 lbs harnessed.  It usually runs $150 - $180.  The My Ride can RF to 40 lbs, but the shell is a little shorter and many kids may hit the RF height limit first.  It can also FF to 65 lbs harnessed and is about $150.

the best bang for her buck, for longevity will be the Graco MyRide.

She could start with a Cosco Scenera and save for something better.

Quoting Kris_PBG:

Yes - these seats.  You can find the ETA for as low as $110 online with free shipping.  Next up in price is the myride 65.

Holy Cow Tabi!  That seat has come down in price since I looked at it last!  That is great!

Personally, unless I had a child expected to be heavy, I would get the TF over the MR then!

If she can swing around $150, the MyRide would be a good choice as it rear faces to 40lbs and front faces to 65lbs.  If price weren't an issue, I'd suggest the new Sunshine Kids Radian XTSL, which will rear face to 45lbs and front face to 80.
