Baby Shower Gift(piog)

So my DH's cousin is having her first baby and invitied me to the shower tomorrow. I have been stumped as to what to get her for a gift. She doesn't want any pink but she is having a girl. I always like to get something for the mom also...I'm just not sure what. I am usually so good at gifts, but once she shot down the pink I haven't saw anything else I liked. And I can't take the kids out shopping with me because I can't look at anything. So, tomorrow after church my mom is taking them so I can go to the shower and stop and throw together a gift, unless I do it before church. What kind of ideas do you all have? I thought about offering to take pictures of baby when she is born...but I am no professional, but I think I'm good and I do editing. I was thinking the basics-wash cloths, socks, baby powder, etc and something for her...but I have no real good ideas. I was just thinking too, maybe I could get a picture frame and put in it that I would take pics of the baby. Do you all think that is a bad idea I just need some opinions...and would any of you like that if it was offered to you. She is 19.

How about something like a picture frame kit for the first foot prints or a baby book for pictures or memories? I have bought people keepsake type of gifts many times and the new moms seem to love them and not get alot of that sort of thing as everyone is being practical. You can buy a nice sleeper in purple or something to include if you like. For her maybe a nightgown, slippers or bath set. Magazines or books are good for new moms to be as they wait out those last days as well.

I like your idea.  Do a gift basket with wash cloths, baby soap/shampoo, bibs, wipes, etc as well as a picture frame offering to take pictures.

That way you wont feel too bad if she doesnt want to take you up on the pictures because she still got something KWIM?

At my baby shower someone bought me a "mom's stash" coin jar. I loved it! Its purple and I still have it all these years later. I think babies r us has them

Did you check to see if she had a registry at Babies R Us or Target or something? Diapers and wipes are always good things to get... and a baby first aid kit w/ baby Tylenol, little tummys, gas medicine, diaper rash cream, and orajel.. first time mommas don't always realize they'll need those things but they are great to have on hand!

 (I found a pic on e-bay)

give her a little gift basket with lotions, and HAND SANATIZER in it. with a gift certificate for you to take pictures either at home or at the hospital.

you could include little tings like vasiline, vapor bath, things that come in handy like that

I provide childcare for parents in and around Tulsa,Ok.

I gave this once and it was a huge hit!  I bought a nice lined wicker type clothes basket, nice clean rope from home depot, wooden clothes pins, a few outfits, socks, towels, wash clothes, robe, gowns etc etc etc - laid the rope out, clothes pinned everything on like a wash line, put it back in the basket according like. topped it with colorful tissue and a bottle of Dreft.  When she opened it I took the end and started walking away from her and it unfolded to look like a clothes line full of clothes (she held the other end) .KWIM?
