Well DH is a great guy (he is honduran) but I absolutely cannot stand the majority of his family. Also, we spent a lot of time in counseling to try and work out our cultural differences. For example, I am a 50 50 type of person, if we both work outside the home, then we should both be equally responsible for the housework and he thinks that med don't have to do anything in the home because thats woman's job, his whole family thinks that way and it is so ignorant. Another thing, x-mas and easter are very big for my family and we buy lots of gifts for the kids and wine for the adults. But his family doesn't celebrate easter with baskets and egg hunts at all and x-mas for them is to say merry x-mas at midnight on the 24th and drink all night. We make the kids go to bed early or "santa won't leave presents". And we wake up really early on the 25th with the kids.

So all in all there are a lot of differences but we try to meet each other in the middle.

My ex husband is  Armenian..and I love the culture, but  i couldnt handle his hitting me..THe Ex belived that i was his SLAVE pretty much..eww i hate thinking about him...My hubby now is a good ol corn fed white boy..lol and i love him

Yes I was, I've been together with a german (grew up there), a spanish and a yugoslavian boyfriend. My husband is german-american and I liked the yugoslavian ( just because he was so hot) and my husband because he is the greatest best :)

Yeah my kids'dad is mexican.  He is uncircumsized and barely showers.  I never understood that. But he was great in bed.  He is also VERY smart.

I married an Asian Indian man when I was 19... I am 25 now and divorced... LOL.

I loved the culture, and still do.  I miss parts of it.  It's hard for me to watch a Bollywood movie (you know y'all like it too!).  But the cultural differences were too difficult to overcome on the big issues... like... you can't call your wife all sorts of horrible names and threaten to hit her when she does something you don't like.  He ended up blaming all the "bad stuff" (like him not being able to keep a job) on me.  That could have been the depression and not his culture though.  I'm not sure.  I just know the emotional abuse was too difficult for me to handle and I didn't want my daughter growing up thinking that women were second rate.
