I have horrible heartburn... like really really bad... according to my dr's website the only things I can have are Tums, Rolaids, Zantac and Pepcid.... Tums and Rolaids do nothing but leave a nasty taste in my mouth and don;t help the heartburn at all... my aunt will take me to get something tomorrow but I don't know what's going to help...
I'm living on milk right now but it's making me sick since I'm lactose intolerant... the milk seems to help but it was so bad earlier that I was throwing up and it's been like this for days....
Pepcid helped me tons!!! Maybe your doctor could call in a prescription too? If pepcid wont work.

Zantac OTC (over the counter) worked for me after i no longer had insurance. There is a Generic called Ranitidine that is 1/2 the price of name brand and works just as well. Look for things at the pharmacy called "acid reducers" those will help alot. I spent 5 yrs unexplainably (sp) throwing up anytime i ate and it took me getting pregnant to find out i suffered from heart burn. You can also try eating a piece of bread to help soak up acid.
Zantac worked the best for me. but if you are lactose intolerant you should not drink milk. I became lactose intolerant when I was pregnant ( probably because I drank more milk than normal) and I figured out that dairy was the cause of my heartburn. when I cut out dairy I was able to get off the acid reducers. also it probably sounds strange but if I get heartburn now I just eat a banana and it goes away
