Any Vets out there?

 I need some help.

My parent have a four year old Pit Bull named King. In the last month or so, he has gone from a happy healthy dog to not being able to move. It's like he woke up one day and was limping, then a couple of days later, his back legs would give out, then his front legs. He was acting drunk or something, stumbling all over the place. In a matter of weeks, he is completely unable to walk. My dad has to carry him everywhere. And he just lays there. It looks like his paws are also swollen (my dad says they aren't though) and his front paws look like they are turning in. Like if he hands, they'd be in a fist.

This came on suddenly, when the limping first started about a month ago, he would cry, but doesn't anymore. My dad has taken him to the vet twice. At first the thought was arthritis, and told my dad to give him glucosemin. He got worse so my dad took him back, and they gave him a cortisone shot. The crying stopped. He doesn't seem like he's in pain, but you can tell he is miserable because he can't move, he tries to crawl, but is too heavy. He does have the urge to play, but can't move and that gets to him.The vet is out of ideas and doesn't have a clue what is wrong with him. My parents worry to death. My mom cries everyday. We were over there today and my oldest (who wants to be a vet too) came to me with tears in her eyes saying "Mommy, I don't want King to die, I said a prayer and asked God to make him better".

My dad says that he is hoping he wakes up one day and King is better, they won't even speak of putting him down right now because he is not in pain. That is their baby, can anyone help us? Please?

Your parents need to find another vet asap. I am not a vet but have worked at one for many years and can think of several possibilities.  This dog needs to be x-rayed, have a neurological exam done and possibly be put on a doggie anti steroidal.   It could be neck or back problems, slipped disc, problems in the spine.  torn cruciate( low on the list) it could be a tick born disease there are many differant things so for the vet to run out of ideas blows me away.

I agree with KyliesMom, to me the problem sound neuroligic, like possibly his brain could be sending mixed signals to his nervous system, either that or its a problem with his nervous system. And yes, absolutely go to another vet. And as far as his feel curling in, either another nervous system problem or it sounds like his muscles are going through atrophy, the muscles will cramp and tighten if they arent used, same thing you can see in the elderly when they are bed ridden. Good luck and best wishes for the pup!

This! I worked in a vet's office and can think of a bunch of things myself. Like KyliesMom5 said, lots of tests need to be done.
