 I am wondering about symptoms, did your arm hurt? I have been hurting in my left arm for a few hours now, just throbbing. Hurts from my wrist to the top of my shoulder. Having trouble closing my hand and it feels swollen a little. I don't know if it's carpal tunnel or arthritis? Just curious.My left jaw sort of hurts.

What are some of the symptoms.

(update)

I have pulled a muscle in my upper arm/shoulder area. Still pretty painful and sore, but I'm needing a nap. I didn't realize that I hurt my arm.But when I thought about it I remember when I did it.Friday my husband and I went to the store. I bought a stack of those(plastic) holiday cups. (from the dollar store) when I got them home I was going to put the new stuff I bought, plate set, bowls and those cups in the dishwasher. Well there was one cup that wouldn't come out of the the others. I even took it to my husband to see if he could pull it apart. I held one and he pulled on the other, still wouldn't budge. So I went and ran some water in them, still nothing. I pulled and pulled on those damn thing, finally the one that was stuck just cracked and broke. I had to throw it away. I strained my arm doing that. Geeze, silly right. I tell you I won't buy anymore of those things.What's bad is I have a damaged nerve in my right arm after getting burned a few weeks ago. So, is this how old age sets in? :.{

Thanks for the advice ladies, thank goodness wasn't my heart, but the way I was hurting I wondered, cause I am sore the whole left side. Under my arm pit and upper shoulder is the most painful. So, I'm gonna go get a nap and rest my arm.

  • The problem with having a heart attack is the symptoms are soooooooooo wide. I had a patient come into the ER with abdominal pain and when we did an EKG she was having a heart attack. Usually in women right arm pain in more common, but that is Usually not always... The fact that your Jaw hurts worries me a little..... Do you have any chest pain/pressure. most hospitals will tell you that anything you are feeling in your chest that is differant then the norm they consider that pain...

  • Earlier when I was driving home form my moms my arm began hurting, and I felt a little short of breath. But I also have anxiety and sometimes panic attacks. But I've had a really good day, this doesn't feel like panic attack or anxiety. When I have those symptoms, it never includes my jaw or arm hurting. It worries me, becaus eearly heart problems are a risk factor in my family. My moms sister had a heart attack at age 45(she survived), my paternal grandma passed away from a massive heart attack at age 61. I am 39 yrs old.

  • I know, I should up and go to the ER, but I am  relaxed and not wanting to freak out. Think I'll go take an asprin.

  • you should take asprin, now or if it happens again.

    I don't think heart attacks last for hours, but I could be wrong.

    When my dad had a heart attack, I remember because I was the only one home and had to call 911 in a state I wasnt even supposed to be living in at the time.

    His left side of his body went completely numb and he kind of hollered in pain. I didnt call 911 until later that night because of other things that happened, he thought he would "sleep it off" *eye roll*

  • Asprin is good to take. in the future I would make sure they are non coated and then chew it. Nasty I know, but it gets into your blood stream faster and if you are still feeling the pains go to the ER.. The shortness of breath you discribed is also worrisome...It is always better to go to the ER and it be nothing then to not go and have it ben something big. I would try and see if you could bet to a hospital with a Cath Lab....

  • Go to the ER Stat!

    Better to be safe than sorry!

    My hubby has had two heart attacks and there is always pain in his left arm from his hand all the way up to his shoulder and eventually the pain ends up right in the middle of his chest.

    He had his first attack at only 40 and it runs in his family so just go and take care of yourself!
