OOK so long story short this has been a worsening condition over the period of months and I recently was scheduled for a HIDA scan ( gallbladder scan) last week and they said it was abnormal. I have consult for surgery on monday. Well tonight my pains are intense going on a few hours now despite some vicodin. Should I wait it out until monday - its just one more day? Should I go in to the ER ? My Dad said he will take me in so hubby can sleep at home with the girls. Would they do anything for me anyway since it is sunday? Please let me know your thoughts or if you had your GB removed your take on this thanks
Never had any of this happen to me, but I'd suggest calling the ER and talking to a nurse, or calling a nurseline if your insurance offers it. Tell them the whole thing. I'm sure they'll be able to tell you what to do better than any of us can! Good luck!
I would just wait until monday. Until then stay away from greasy and fatty foods and dairy. Eat a bland diet.
Unless you're dying most ERs wont do crap for you except shoot you up with painkillers... I had a spinal headache from leaking spinal fluid and they gave me an mri and painkillers and sent me on my merry way.
I'm a vaxing, circing, disposable diaper using, bf switched to ff, CIO sometimes, pushed 1hr before a c-section (and don't regret it), college graduate, loving my son, can't wait to have another baby, trust your own judgement, kind of mom.
Had my GB out several yrs ago and yes the pain was awful. I had it for several mths until it got so bad when it did last for hours and there was nothing I could do for the pain. I personally would go into ER or urgent care and maybe they can give you something stronger. GL

If you have insurance they probably have a nurses line that you could call and ask for advice. If not then you should call the local ER. They would MUCH prefer a phone call to give basic advice than you coming in and them telling you to go home...
If you have a temp. you should go, or if the pain continues to worsen, or if there are new symptoms you should go to the E.R. If you just feel that something is wrong then I would follow your instinct and go.
I had the same pains but went months without my doc doing anything. You probably ate something that has irritated your stomach. When I got those really bad pain I would stand in the shower, back to the water with the water as hot as I could stand it. It helped me and may help you as well. Mine had completely shut down and I had a stone lodged in my bowl duct which could have killed me had it dislodged. I feel your pain dear, I know exactly what you are feeling. Try the shower though, it may help!

I had mine removed. It kept on hurting so bad that I went to the ER and they admitted me right into the hospital for surgery the next day. The Dr. said if I had waited to much longer my gallbladder would have ruptured. If it is not stopping I would go into the ER and let them know that you have had issues with your gallbladder and they should go ahead and admit you.Good luck hope that you start to feel better
our ER does not give medical advice over the phone. they say to come in and be seen or to wait it out. they say use your judgment. this is to cover their butts. thats why I asked on here. I didnt go in. Im still in pain. But I can manage until tomorrows consult. Thanks everyone for your advice.
