Ok, so my dd is about 5 months old, and she LOVES to sit and stand, she also tries to get up on her knees when she is laying on her tummy, its pretty awesome she also tries to take steps when she stands. I think its a little weird...but cool. My first question though is, when we lay her down she DOES NOT try to roll over, ever, she just doesnt, and when we lay her on her back she tries to sit up....but still nothing for rolling over. Do you think she will ever roll over? Or do you think this just doesnt seem to be something she wants to do? I mean I have rolled her over, to show her she can do it...but still nothing! She rolled over on accident one time and thought it was funny but never actually tried to do it herself. She can scoot across the floor in no time though!

Also craddle cap? What do you do for it?

O and DH is sleeping and Im wearing the shirt he wore today because it smells like him is that wrong? haha wow bed time for momma Im getting crazy...

anyways what do you ladies think?

  • As for the rolling over, don't worry about it. As long as she is on track develpmentally with about everything else, she's fine. My daughter never rolled over. She went from laying down, to sitting up, to crawling, and we're still waiting for her to walk. She is a year old. They don't have to hit every milestone withing a certain time frame, every baby is different. I don't know what to tell you about cradle cap, because I've never had to deal with it. And no, wearing your hubby's shirt isn't wrong. I do it all the time :)

  • first off my 5 mo hates to be on his tummy so he tries to get off it as soon as we put him tummy down but some kids just dont want to roll over. our son tries to sit up too when we put him on his back and stands as well. maybe she will be like my hubby, he went straigh to walking he never crawled. all kids are different. and as for the shirt no thats not weird i wear my hubbys somtimes too it makes me feel closer to him at night cause he sleeps on the couch to take care of our son at night

  • Your little will grow and do things in her own time sounds like she's just not interested in rolling over because moving has much more possibilities...LOL! As for the cradle cap take a small amount of olive or baby oil and rub it into her scalp where the cradle cap is and let it be for a few minutes, then take a soft toothbrush and gently rub the area to loosen it.Her baby comb should be fine toothed enough to remove most of what is loosened and if there is still some there you can repeat this...just be very gentle.

  • First. She seems like a very advance child. Second all babys are different. My little cousin started tacking steps before she crawled. My son can stand up by himself if you put him against something. He even lift his head up from the moment he was born. My point is that babys do thing in differet orders at differnt times. I would not worry about.

And no its not wierd to put on your hubbys shirt. If your hubbys not with you its always comforting to feel like he is with the smell. Just not a musty one. lol

    I hope this helps

  • Thanks ladies! I do think she might skip some stuff only because we have a 3 year old in the house that constantly goes, and 5 mo old watches her constantly! Its cute too, when oldest runs by and baby is in her bouncey seat she will start kicking her feet like she wants to run too! Its sooo cute! But she is reaching all of her other milestones, shes been a great baby so far...although she has had her crabby points (what baby hasnt though right?)

I will have to check out head n shoulders...see if our store out here has some (we live in small town USA) and the baby oil is a good idea (even better had DD not dumped it all over our bedroom floor because she wanted mommies bedroom to smell pretty it was lavendar scented!) I will also look up more info online!

As for DH's shirt, I love love love to wear them he always yells at me but I also love when I wake up in the morning to roll over and lay on his pillow after hes gone to work its like I can still dream hes here! Glad to know Im not alone!

  • DH and I thought it was funny, we had a oily kid, slippery floor (warning baby oil carpet is like wet linolium SP?) and we could not open any doors...including our bedroom door from the inside our closet door from either side or the master bathroom door! we found DD in our closet full of it! I will admit though once the oil feeling is gone the scent does last for a LONG time...so that was one perk! ha I do love being a mom!

  • That's what I did for the cradle cap. While they were in the tub I put baby oil and combed it out and that was the end of that. Babies are all different and I can not clearly remember my girls being 5 months but I think your girl seems advanced. Of course it's not wrong for you to wear his shirt LoL! It's cute

  • When DH and I first started dating I stoled one of his shirts from him and put it on a huge...and I mean huge stuffed puppy he bought me for valentines day and slept with it every night! Needless to say the smell wore off it fast and it is now in DD's room but she loves it! The shirt never came off the dog, I dont think it ever will! She wasnt even one yet when I met him and eventually she started calling him daddy on her own and would tell people that it was daddys shirt and NO one was to touch it!
