I was wondering what side effects everybody was experiencing? I don't know but I feel like I am totally different...I have a low sex drive all the time. I feel like horrible back pains and joint pains, way worse headaches and migraines than I already experience. The only plus is I haven't had a period in two years...and I haven't got pregnant again, but I still have the period symptoms, like stomach crapping and leg crapping like once to twice a month. Also I always feel lazy...especially lately. Like I don't want to do anything, not even leave my house to run to the store, URGHHH!!! Has anyone else had similar symptoms? I getting it removed at tax time when DH gets snipped, but until then...I just wanted to make sure this is the cause, what have your symptoms been like? Thanks for any info.

  • Mirena is awful, you should really look into another form of bc. I used mirena for 2 years and had all the same symptoms plus awful irritability, really negative violent thoughts, severe mood swings. I was not myself for 2 years. I got it removed this june and feel more like myself but it took 2 months and I still have no sex drive. Just imagine , like I do, if the immediate side effects are this severe what on earth are the long term effects going to be like!

  • Okay, I have Mirena & I love it.  No side effects except a really light period.  But I don't think I am overly sensitive to b/c.  I used to be on Depo back before I got preggo.  I got off so I could have a baby, waited 6 months for the stuff to leave my system & BAM & was preggo 1 1/2 months later!  That sucks about all the stuff you have going on!  I used to have no eneregy & I found out I was Vitamin D deficient.  I take 50,000 units of vitamin D (it's a rx) & not I am good to go.  You may want to look into getting checked for it.  good luck!

  • I loved it at first but slowly I started to notice all these weird side effects. I just started taking vitamins so I will see that helps for anything but so far I have been feeling the same. When I got the mirena I already suffered from migranes but only once to twice a month, if that. But after I got the mirena it started happening all the time and I never not had a headache. Next came no sex drive and then the fatigue. I don't know if the joint (knee) and back pain is from the mirena or from pregnancy...All I know is I will probably get it removed, but it has to wait until DH get cut down there.
