I quit when I had a head cold and a cigarette was the last thing in the world that I  wanted.Threw  my cigarettes out and never bought them again.

What kind of advise do you want?  If you are ready, then you are ready.  I would pick a crutch that I thought would help me get started and go for it.  Good Luck.

I'm looking for advice on how to beat the cravings!  I've tried before and the cravings were overwhelming...

I started knitting baby hats for the local NICU. When ever it felt like I wanted to smoke I would knit. Weird i know but it helped me. Also I would walk out side because that is where I smoked and walk around for a couple minutes, It kind of made me feel like I had smoked because It was the routine for me. I was REALLY hard still but if you really want to quit that will be your motivation. I also took the money I would spend every couple of days and put it in an envelpoe, when i had the went 6 weeks without smoking i took that money and bought myself some things that i wanted as a little reward.

That's a good way to go... Except I need to make sure I have healthy snacks around me!
