Do you have a budget for your kids? If so how much?

I'm asking because I really want to buy my girls            (ages 4 &1) a dollhouse and kitcchen set. There both 100.00 a piece. My husband thinks that is to much. and then i figured i would set a budget of 100.00 each on them.

what are your opionions.

  • My husband and I are spending 100.00 on my one year old son.  Nothing that big so he will have 3 or 4 presents under the tree but thats all we can afford we are both grad students

  • We don't really have a set budget this year for our boys, as Elijah will only be 6 months by Christmas, but we are spending 200-400$ on Ryan - 3y/o

  • I think its up to you what you feel comfortable with... For my sons they are both 6 I think we will end up spending around $200-250/each hopefully stick around 200... For extended family members (like grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc...) around $30/each. Our daughter will be a newborn so far I've spent about $40-50 on her, and I think I'm done because I know she'll be too little to care. My husband I spent around $100 on him this year, and I'm pretty much done with his stuff. I just want to buy some Spongebob golfballs as a stocking stuffer from the kids since I think they are funny.

  • We have cut our budget this year because we are expecting another child.  DD has a budget of $150 from Santa and about $50 from mom and dad.  SS is getting $50 from us and about $75 from Santa, and before anyone bashes because SS is getting less, let me explain.  He will be at his mother's house Christmas morning this year and we will not see him for 4 days.  Santa is bringing him a few gifts to our home and the majority to his mother's.

  • well before when it was only our ds it would not really matter but with all the current money issues and our dd being 2 years old and another dd on the way we are doing about $100.00 each maybe less.
