Did you have one? Do/did your kids have one? What age did you get it for them? What did you not like about them? How about charging, I was too young to know much about that with mine. Are they easy to charge/how often do/did you replace the battery?
I know my son is too young, he's 17 months. Our zoo had a Fisher Price toy exhibit this weekend and we went yesterday, he had the best time with the Power Wheels! Oh man.
My mom wants to get him this one for Christmas, I know he's too young to really enjoy it but it's one of the few toys that will grow with him.

my son got his 1st at like 11 months (it was a baby quad) ... he also has a bigger quad, escalade ext, ford f 150 and a john deere ... he LOVED them! kept him busy for hours! i didnt like lugging them outside lol ... we replaced the battieries every 6 - 12 months ...

We got my daughter the princess pontiac when she was like 1 or 2, it sat there.. she didnt have much interest in it once we left the store lol. Although her cousins loved it when they came over. She's 4 now and wants a quad.. but I'm having serious thoughts about it.. lol

My son got his first quad at age 1 and LOVED it but the power button was on the handle and very hard for him to push in to make it go. He did better with it when he was almost 2. My daughter got her first princess car this past summer, she is one, I found it in the trash and DH fixed it, and she sat in the passengers seat while her brother drove her around but she LOVED it. My son was given one of my sister's children's kawasaki quad this summer and LOVES it. Our batteries are still good but the charger for the quad went bad the end of summer and we have to buy a new one but my sister had the battery and charger for nearly five years.
As long as the power is a push pedal one your son should do fine with it. Believe me he will LOVE it! Just a warning though, it takes them a few times driving it for them to get the sterring down. My son ran into our fence and tree a lot!! LOL
I personally would get it for him.

My dd got her first one when she was 3, we change the battery about every 6 mths she still "drives" it and so does my ds now!!
I'm sorry but I think they are ridiculous. I have seen so many horrible videos of kids running over little ones and getting hurt on them... even older kids... they shouldn't have some electronic toy to have fun.. what about using their legs... gross motor skills... why have a battery operated "bike" to do all the work.. get him a real bicycle or tricycle.
That's just my opinion. I will NEVER allow my children to have power wheels... I would much rather them have a tricycle.. something that they have to "work" at instead of having something do all the work for them.

we got it for his 3rd birthday but he's 4 now and he's been using it all the time. We take him around the block and he drives it on the side walk LOL he loves that little truck it's the silver ford. I wish we would have gotten him the 2 passenger one because now he has a baby brother we just didn't think about that before. My dh puts it to charge over night it lasts a good while.
We got my son one when he turned 1. It was on sale at Big lots on Black Friday. We knew he wouldn't use it right away, but it was only 50 bucks. He didn't use it till he was like 2 to 2 1/2. He was a blue thunder monster truck. He actually doesn't ride it all that much. We have only charged it like 5 or 6 times and we have never replaced the batteries.
My other son just got a little quad for his 2nd birthday and he also doesn't use it that much. He doesn't really get the concept of steering. So its kinda frustrating for him. We have charged that one once and he has had it for 3 months.
I've got to say though... that police car is soooo cute!

my son has a power wheel just the other day dh took him in his power wheel then he wanted to leave it and then they went walking. Some days he doesn't want it some days he'll use his bike. Other days we walk the dog and he wants to walk/run. just because she's asking about it doesn't mean her kid probably won't use a bike or walk what happened to just kids being kids LOL
My son has a Power wheels car and a tricycle. He uses both equally and has a lot of fun with both.

Your son isn't too young for a Power Wheels. They make toddler size ones. I've seen them at Toys R Us and my friend has one for her son that is a school bus. He's had it since he was about 15 months. They are about $100. I wanted to get one for my son, but the weather here is crappy in the winter and so he wouldn't get much use out of it right now. The battery is easy to charge but do not overcharge it. My friend charged hers and forgot about it and now it doesn't work so she had to get a new battery. You just plug it in and it's easy. I would like to get my son one perhaps next summer. He'll be 2.5 by then so I will probably go with the regular size power wheels then. I think the weight limit for the small ones is 35 lbs, maybe 40 lbs. I can't remember.
