for the most part i mean mirena does its job i havent gotten pregnant. in the begginning i had cramps and what not i seem to have a period for like 2 or 3 days but then i have really light spotting for about a week or so. i mean it doesnt even need a tampon or liner or anything its that light but it can be annoying. but i mainly like it especially since i dont have to remember anything

I had one for about 2.5 years. I'd had minor cramping too and some discomfort when dh and I were "intimate" lol. It wasn't bad, but annoying. I got some tests done, U/S and such cuz the cramping actually got pretty bad at one point. Everything was fine, it was still in the right place and all. But I decided to have it removed, just because it was sort of inconvenient. Then I found out (should have checked earlier!) that my health insurance doesn't cover BC. Knowing that, I may have just put up with it. Now dh and I don't use BC, just condoms and tracking (and we're okay if we "accidentally" get pg) but it's been almost 3 years and no slip ups.

i got a few bacterial infections when i had mine in.. i could shower 2x a day and still get them.. my OB-GYN said it was a normal thing because the strings hold on to the bacteria

when i get my next on in (this week i hope) they are going to write me a scrips for a gel to use after sex to stop me from getting the infections
