My vacuum won't turn on!!  I've tried 3 different outlets, held the button down, pushed it 8 billion times in rapid succession...AHHH!!!  I have a near 2 year old and a husband who refuses to eat at the table...I NEED to vacuum!!

WTF, how does a $300 vacuum just suddenly one day no longer respond to electrical supply??

Anyone have any ideas to fix my vacuum/get it to turn on?  I can't buy a new one.

Here's the vacuum I have (it's a Bissel Healthy Home):

How long have you had it?  Did you try the reset buttons on the outlets?  I would call Bissel in the morning to see if you can troubleshoot and get it working again.

maybe you just have a short in the cord and need to get that repaired.

We've had it about 2 years.  I still have the manual, but I did not keep the receipt, which is what they want.  I usually only keep receipts for a few months, until I can't return an item anymore.

Did you register it after you purchased it?  Usually they have a little postcard thingy you can fill out and mail in or go online and register the product.  That way you don't have to worry if you lost your paperwork..Bissel will have all the info in their systems.  If the warranty covers it, Bissel will either tell you where to go in your area to have it replaced or will send someone out to your house to look at it.

I fixed it!!!

I just took the whole thing apart, every screw (you know, like you're not supposed to), and put it all back and BLAM, it works.

Yaaay!
