I am 30 yrs old about to have my 2nd child in March and seriously thinking about getting my tubes tied. With my 1st child I was sick the whole 9 months and this one I am sick not as much but I am so tired I have no energy and all I do is cry and I dont see how that can be to good for a womans body. I would like to know if I do it will my body feel any different? Do you gain more weight or lose? What should I expect?
You shouldn't really go through many changes at all. Your hormones may be off for some time, but they will regulate within a couple months. Why not have your man get fixed instead......LOL

Here is a good site to look at:
It made my periods heavier and sporadic. I never knew when it was coming. Plus my cramps got stronger. If I could go back in time, I would have never got it done.

My personal experience - I wish I hadn't gotten it done. It's been a year almost since I had mine cut, tied, and burned (I believe) and my yes I have gained weight that I can't seem to lose, my periods have been much more intense than they were before, and my hormones (which tend to swing pretty badly already) still have not gotten anywhere close to normal. Then there's the feeling some women get (myself included) that you are "broken" now and less whole than you were when you could still have that option of getting pregnant. It really is something that I say look into extensively - do as you are & ask others about it (I didn't have that option - just what they give you to look at from dr office - which doesn't mention any of these things btw), look into as many resources as you can and make sure you have plenty of time to think it through and decide.
As a PP said, have you looked into having your s/o sterilized? It's a much less invasive and less painful procedure for them than it is for us.
I wish you the best of luck with this, whichever route you choose.
This was me too, but my periods weren't sporadic. They come the same time every month. At first they were heavier and I had more pain with cramps, but now after a year and a half, that's sort of going away and they're getting back to the way they used to be.
