My poor baby is sick for the first time. Hes two!!! He has never had a fever or even a little sniffle. I honestly think its because he has been breastfed and is still nursing(well somewhat...he's self weaning now). Poor kid hes miserable=(
What kind of cold medicine can i give him? He is Two and weighs 25 lbs
I used to just go to walmart and start reading all t he labels. but my dd's pediatrician just told me that if it's a cold then all of that medicine doesn't even work, and can sometimes be harmful, such as robitussin, and any cough and cold medicine for children under 6, she said there have even been quite a few deaths. She said it's just not necessary and has never been proven to work. gotta let it run its course. I used to use vicks plug ins for dd because she would get really congested....anything short of a fever you just really can't do anything about.

I would try Tylenol. Here's a medicine dosing chart that is really helpful.

Quoting TheSinFamily:
well what exactly are his symptoms? look into natural ways to help him cope as oppose to doing medicine right off the bat. .
Well the only reason i want to give him medicine for is his nose so he can breath tonight...my humidifier broke or i would use that. I wouldn't normally give him medicine but its night time and he cant sleep because he cant breath
so a runny nose? im not sure what his symptoms are....
if you can wait until tomorrow, talk to a pharmacist.... other than "u shouldnt give them anything before they're 6" they may give u useful info
my son's 3... when he has a runny nose, we give him a little children's claritan to dry out the runny nose enough so he can breathe..... but you'd especially have to talk to some1 to find out the correct dosage, it goes by weight, not age

vicks vapor rub should help him sleep, they have one for children and infants, that works really well. theres a cherry one made by mucinex (i think its mucinex) comes in a red jar and my daughter likes it. prop the head up when shes sleeping, use a few pillows instead of just one that way his head is raised and will drain easily.
