So this year is a really tough year for us money wise. We had some sudden bills come up and they hit right before christmas and it sucks. We're stressing out about what to get our kids because money is so tight.
I was telling one of my "friends" that I DESPERATLY needed a job and had applied at a jewlery store that was hiring part time and the hours were PERFECT for my family.
Well, she went and applied for the same job and got it because she knows the ppl. When I asked her why she did, she gives me "well, i'm bored at home and my daughter is asking for some pretty exspensive gifts this year"
Okay, her and her husband are not desperate for money. At all. And their kids(they have 2) get a BUTTLOAD of stuff for christmas every year. She had just shown me what they have already got them and its more than my kids ever get and its all 50-200 dollar items! Seriously? I'm worried that I won't be able to get my kids much of anything! She KNEW how badly I needed this job. We're barely keeping our heads above water with my husband's 10 dollar an hour job and 3 kids. Her husband makes over 20 dollars and hour.
Then she tells me that it wasn't really suitable for me. But hey, McDonalds is hiring! Apply there? I wanted to punch her! Selfish, spoiled,......grrrrr!
Don't think i'm gonna be talking to that "friend" much anymore.
She wouldn't be a friend of mine!!!! Sorry she did that to you!
So you're mad that they chose her instead of you? I'm sorry things are tight for you moneywise, but the employer can hire who they choose. They must have thought she was more qualified. I wouldn't take it so personally. Even if she hadn't applied, they could have hired someone else anyway.

What a B-word. With friends like that who needs enemies?

Even still, a true friend wouldn't purposely compete with a friend for a job, knowing how desperate she is for work. It was a crappy thing to do.
That was what made me mad. She knew how badly I needed the job. But she went after it anyway. She doesn't need it. At all.
And then her comment that it wasn't suitable for me but McDonalds was.....made me feel like she was saying I was low class or something(not that I think ppl that work at McDonalds are low class. It was just the way she said it.....)
She is one of those ppl that seems to make everything between us a competition. I can't stand being around her too much bc of it.
