Hi
I have an 11 month old Daughter and just wanted to get some idea's about well when did you start painting your little ones nails and did you do both fingers and toes and what age and what brand of polish as I'm a little weary as she loves to put everything in her mouth including her nails, lol....
What age do you think is appropriate to start painting their nails???
What brand of polish did you use???
I first painted her toenails at about a year old. Wanted her fingernails done the next time (about a month or so later) so I did. I just used a pale color of a brand I already owned. Yeah, she put her fingers in her mouth, but, she is fine still! Just don't paint more than one coat and don't do it too often.
I never use polish remover on her nails though. Too abrasive, I thought.

You weren't worried about the chips of polish coming off in her mouth and swallowing?
I painted my dd's toe nails at about 20mo. She wouldn't sit still before that (still won't really but I was painting mine so she wanted it too) I used a quick drying kind because I know she would want to touch them right away.
If you're going to do finger nails, they have kid friendly nail polish out there. Do a google search.

My daughter has heart problems that hsd to be monitored really closely. She got out of the hospital when she was five months. I started with her toes then. She seemed to love it. She would always sit really still til they dried. Shes 2 1/2 now and I still don't paint her fingers. I need to be able to check her nail beds.
