 LOL

No but seriously..

according to this walmart is doing thanksgiving dinner for 8 for 20 bucks;

but according to  my walmart they think i'm smoking some sort of crack and pulling it out my ass.  So i'm royally confused..i also saw this on the today show last week so i know its real. lol. I just left and let it be; but the manager didn't even want the link to read up on it himself; i told him it contained a phone number and everything.

Oh well..is anyone  else having issues with walmart honoring this?

http://www.walmartstores.com/

A turkey dinner for eight as low as $20
According to a survey by the American Farm Bureau Federation, last year’s average cost of a turkey was roughly $1.19 per pound. Beginning today, select Grade A turkeys are available for 40 cents per pound at Walmart.* These gobblers are part of Walmart’s $20 Thanksgiving menu guaranteeing family favorites will be on the dinner table this holiday season. Walmart’s $20 Thanksgiving feast includes:

  • One 12-pound Grade A turkey*
  • Three 11 to 15.5-ounce cans Green Giant vegetables
  • Two 14-ounce cans Ocean Spray cranberry sauce
  • Three 6-ounce boxes of Stove Top stuffing
  • One 5-pound bag of red potatoes
  • One 12-count package of Sara Lee dinner rolls
  • One 22-ounce pumpkin roll cake

 EDIT

Called the number listed on http://www.walmartstores.com/and found out that if you live in either AK, HI, OK, NM, and WI, prices will be different there due to something called a unfair sales act that prohibits stores from selling below minimum pricing. Which means if the minimum price is 89 cents per Pound for a turkey in those states; then that is as low as they can go; regardless of what they are going for in other states.

Pretty dumb if you ask me.

So if you live in any other state besides AK, HI, OK, NM, and WI you should be able to get all that for 20 bucks. If you live in those states then however low a turkey can go legally is as low as you can get it.

So now my state sucks!! LOL!!!

Our Walmart is not selling any of the turkeys for 40 cents a lb, unless they changed it since the weekend which I doubt.  So they are probably not doing the dinner for $20 either.

I heard this on the news the other day -- wish I could remember where.

So, no, you aren't making it up.  Maybe it's not rolled out yet?  Send an e-mail to corp.  The local stores don't exactly hold the brain trust, KWIM?

Ours are 60 cents a pound. (it was some brand I hadn't heard of, not butterball) Stovetop stuffing is 75 cents a box.  Idk about the other stuff.
