Real Estate question, life rights to a home, signed over deed?

There is plenty of drama going on amongst my dh's family over my fil. He had a stroke a few months back, went home too soon, fell a lot, couldn't get out of bed, etc and ended up back in the hospital. Now he is in a nursing home and as been for a month and he is getting out on Saturday. My in laws are all a bunch of money hungry people (it's sick) Everyone is so concerned over what they are going to get when he dies. My mil died 2 years ago (she pretty much spoon fed fil and he hardly had to lift a finger and so he expects that from all of us... and he just isn't a nice man.) My mil wanted dh to have the house that they bought... it is now in my dh's name but fil has life rights. It is coming down to where my fil needs to live with someone or go into an assisted living/nursing home facility but due to the fact that he has too  much money, he can't get medicare. His sister wants to take him in on the condition that she take over his check book and all finances. That is all good and dandy but we have a feeling that she is going to move him in, we move into the house (like they want us to) and then she is going to ship his butt back to us to care for him when he starts acting up. They already want us to pay the mortgage (and our rent... for some reason they thing we are "living it up" and making fil suffer and pay... for a house that he has life rights to at that!) Anyway, back to my question... is there a way that we can just get the house in our name and he not have life rights to it anymore? (Let me just say, it is seriously boiling down to the point where I don't even want the damn house, but hubby wants it due to the fact that his mother wanted him to have it...)

Any suggestions???

Thanks!

Contact an attorney.  Things like this are VERY involved and considering all of the drama involved, it would be money well spent.
