I had other psychological issues but never an eating disorder.

It's amazing how people don't hold themselves to the standards they set for others.

I will disclose all findings from my research when it is completed.

John, my biological father, used to hit me and call me stupid or fat or a number of things. I have forced myself to throw up and ate a lot when I was depressed... or just the opposite and didn't eat when I was depressed but and still tried to throw up. It depended on what was going on at the time and so on.

Thank you...  I'm trying to take my own personal experiences and use what I was dealing with, physically, emotionally, and spiritually to connect with other women who may have had the same experience.  In essence, I'm trying to see if there's a common correlation between my experience and those experiences of other women.

i am a dv survivor. i have not experienced any of this, but i can see how it would make sense that a person would try to have that semblance of "control" when they feel out of control in  other areas. and i also see how some one could seek solace in food when they are unhappy.

I did not get an eating disorder.  I gained some weight but I also stopped exercising and started eating more fast food.
