My son needs three teeth pulled!!

My five year old went to his dentist today.  The tooth he had a crown in has is abscessed and needs to be pulled.  And the other two are to make room for his adult teeth coming in.  His Adult teeth are huge, so they want to pull teeth and put in spacers to make room and to reduce problems in the future.

Anyone else have this done??  What was your experience?

Hello, My name is Shuntavia and I am a Dental assistance at a pediatric dentistry, and My thoughts are it really will make a difference in lifr for him! If they do not do it know it can cause future crowding and in the long run pay more for ortho. are the using sedation or just happy air?

Let me know! Sb

It's an infection in the tooth.  He had a odd cavity when he was younger, all his other teeth were perfect except this one, so they did a pulp something (forgot what they called it) and put a steel crown on.  Now, at the appt. today he had puss coming out of it!!  And his X Rays showed that his adult teeth coming in have no room, so they want to use some kind of band and remove two baby teeth so that there is less problems with the adult teeth that are pushing through right now...  So, he needs spacers for the adult teeth and the other tooth removed due to it being dead or something...  At least this is all baby teeth problems..

I am right there with you.  Can't offer advice because we haven't had it done yet (dec 2 is the appt)  My 9yo has to have 4 baby teeth pulled and when the adult grow in behind those in a couple years, those will have to be pulled as well.  She just got braces on and we have to make room.  Good luck to you and your son!!
