ok i am 24 and i am just now going to be getting my license. i am so nervous! i have no idea what to expect. i have read the handbook but im still so nervous of failing. i really need to get it, because hubby will be starting a 2nd job soon and i cant depend on him to take me everywhere i need to go. so how hard is it to get your license? did you pass on the first try? i think the one thing i super nervous about is the driving part itself. i have driven before so that part doesnt scare me, but knowing someone is sitting there next to me gradeing my every move is just terrifying! what can i do to calm my nerves? please help!!

I remember, even though its been 12 years, that I just pretended I was in a video game and it relaxed me. Just try to focus on what you gain by passing the test and never let yourself think about anything negative!

Good luck, you'll do great!

i was 16 and took me all 4 times to pass it, i had to practice and practice the maneuverability over and over, the written part is easy. good luck!

i got mine at 17 and passed the first time. I'm not sure how different it is for each state, but i didn't have to parallel park, otherwise i wouldn't have passed, im 22 now and still can't do it! lol. but just make sure to come to a complete stop at any stop signs, and don't slam on the breaks and always ask the insturctor to put their seat belt on if they don't, and turn the radio and your cell phone off. they can and will take points off for having your radio on. umm when you do the 3 point turn, if you can't make it in 3 turns without hitting a curb or something, its ok to do another turn, they won't take points off for that. ok thats all i can remember. but the written part is pretty easy. good luck!!! i hope you pass!!!

well i am going to be 22 in 3 weeks and don't have my license yet. I did take the written part and get my permit like 3 years ago. Passed that on the first try. But didn't drive enough to take the driving part of the test.

I'm terrified of driving. i'm not even quite sure why. I start to panic and get like tunnel vision and can't concentrate on anything when I try. I want to get my license, but I'm not sure how to get over the anxiety.

As long as you come to a complete stop at the stop sign actually right before the stop sign is what i was told and use your blinkers it shoud be fine. Do you know how to paralell park?

When I got mine I was 16 and it took me 2 times because though I knew how to paralell park the Dmv in my home town Hinesville, GA had the paralell parking cones set up for a compact car not a full sized truck. When I asked about it the woman who did the test who was a major bitch said it was standard, and just do it knocked over a cone and failed. So when I went to get it the second time I went to Chatham County, which is in Savannah and the parallel parking set up was with concrete things and the actual normal size for a parallel parking spot I passed with flying colors in the same truck. I asked the woman who did my test up there about it and she said that using cones is not a practice they like to see because they are pretty much never set up properly.
