Why would you want to join the military?

This is a question that is eating away at me and I want to know why would anyone want to join at a time like this? Especially when the government will NOT take care of you if you are injured, care for your family if you or killed, or give you a proper stipend. Please, I want to know.

It's a good thing all Americans don't think like you. You should be THANKFUL that we have such brave men and women in our military so that YOU and YOUR FAMILY can sleep safe at night while they're fighting for YOUR FREEDOM.

i don't want to join the military.  but i am extremely thankful for the people who do.  we should bend over and kiss their feet for serving this craptastic country.

if you are one of those overly annoying people, who seem to get offended over every little thing, and like to pull out the "judgemental" card....please, do not quote me.  i don't pay attention to stupid and i do not deal with whiners.

get yourself a tissue, grow up, and move on.  and have a great day.  :-)

my husband joined because he felt PROUD to be the type of person who had the balls to stand up and FIGHT for the rights that many people take for granted. You want the right to spew this bullshit? Thank him and others like him.

he supports and is proud of his country. and he puts his life on the line, and his son and wife on the back burner for ungrateful sucks who are unappreciative.

I don't where you are thinking that they don't take of soldiers or their families. My husband had a cist on his wrist and the military took care of it and took it out. I am a soldiers wife and the military does take care of family killed or injured.

In fact one of my husband's friends lost a leg when he was deployed and they helped him so much and took care his wife and two kids also. He has a protestic leg that the military paid for, he got discharged and will get paid by the Army for the rest of his life because he got hurt.

It's fine if you don't want to join the military, but there are a lot of people out there like my husband that want to serve their country and protect us and our freedoms.

Umm I wouldn't. But dh is a soldier and I don't know where you got your info from but you do get disability if you get inured, your family does get money in case you die I would get about $400 000 if something were to happen to my dh. Why he joined? Well because it is a good and steady paycheck that comes with many benefits besides that he likes being a soldier.
