She needs help and there's nothing I can do.

My mom lost her job last month. She's actively looking for another one and has had a few leads, but so far nothing has panned out.  And now her ex-employer is fighting her unemployment. How and why, I don't know.  I was just on the phone with her and she broke down, I feel so bad.  I feel guilty for being happy that my husband just got an incredible new job. I just wish there was something I could do for her, but he doesn't start his job until next year.

I'm sorry to hear she lost her job. How long did she work for her ex-employer?

If she is denied her unemployment, she can appeal it.  My sister went throught the same thing. She was fired and her boss was fighting her unemployment, she appealed it and won!  Just be there to listen is helping.  Good luck.

She should be able to get it. I'm wondering if he's not having problems too. I really hope she's able to find a job soon! Just be there to listen to her.

a lot of employers will fight it, they think that will just make people back off and say forget it just tell her to keep going for it!! But tell her to keep a look out at it they can appeal it 3 or 4 times

She's getting her unemployment! She's also looking for jobs on the east coast so she can be closer to us. I'm so relieved they aren't fighting it.
