For those afraid of Black Friday sales....

Ok, last year was my first year going to the black friday sale at Walmart. I lined up at 12am with the intention of getting toys and some home items. I was maybe one of the first 10 people in line. Around about 3am the line grew to about 30-35 people. Between then and when the store opened (I forget if it was 5 or 7) The line grew drammatically to almost 75-100 people.

Now as the door opened, I went in to see practically every Manager waiting in a line with TVs already loaded onto trolleys ready to claim and with an accociate ready to escort you to the register with the item. All of the high price electronics were out there either on an endcap with multiple employees chaperoning them. They also had loads of DVDs and such among the high priced items to distract.

Now if I understand correctly, all superstores are set up the same so Electronics is in the back center of the store and toys are next to it--where I was headed. I looked at the toys for a minute and then I decided to come back out to head for housewares. The 75+ people behind me in line outside were all packed into aisle leading to electronics.

So if you want an electronic item BADLY for the price, get there by midnight and head straight for electronics and get what you want and get out asap.

Black Friday Frequently Asked Questions:

Do people in those disabled carts and strollers really come out at 5am?

Yes, Yes they do. And they are the main reason the electronics aisle is clogged. I mean really, if you need a disabled cart or you have your kids that young do you really have the expectation of getting anything good?

Do the shelves look bare bones after its over?

Nope, the only things that sell out are the TV's, Laptops and hard drives. If you are going for anything else you could almost definitely wait until later on in the day where it looks like business as usual at Walmart on a Friday.

Cool tip.  The only thing I wanted one year at Target was a radio flyer wagon.  I showed up about noon and they were all gone but I took the flyer to Walmart and they matched the price.  Hee hee.
