I am dealing with depression and working to get myself better. I am taking medication and I have found that I am opening up to my hubby and my family and getting things off of my chest with them. I started talking to my mom to night just letting everything out and right now I need my mom to just talk to me tell me everything will be all right that she is here to help me through this and everything. Instead I get well you just need to pray about it. That is it nothing else, She did not reassure me nothing. Do not get me wrong i am a Christian and I pray about my problems but i also like to be able to talk it through with a person and know that they are going to be there for me when I need them. That is all I wanted and I couldn't even get that.

I think sometimes we forget that stuff like that needs to be said. I'm sure she will be there for you, maybe she just doesn't realize that you want to hear that. I think also too, that we forget that God does tell us that he will be there for us, and will protect us. Look at these verses from Psalm 91

"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him;
       I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

 15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
       I will be with him in trouble,
       I will deliver him and honor him.

 16 With long life will I satisfy him
       and show him my salvation."

Hope you continue to get better.

You're lucky your mom says that, my mom would argue about it and piss me off more than I really wouldn't want to talk to her!  lol!

Sadly there are a lot of Mom's like that in this world. All we can do is focus on ourselves and be better people. Oh, and don't forget to take deep breaths; it helps :)

I completely understand where you're coming from. I have post-pardum depression and I am taking medication for it. It's hard for me to open up sometimes, but when I do, that is all I want to hear is that everything will be okay. My step-mother doesn't seem to care and she accused me of being a bad mother and trash (all just two days after my wedding Oct. 24th). I hope you start feeling better. I'm trying to talk more to my hubby, since i realized who in this world really cares about me. I'm here if YOU ever feel like talking/venting.
