Would it be overstepping?

I have wanted to go to Disney World since I can remember.  I mean, I know Disney World, without ever stepping foot in it or anything.  I watch the shows, research online, and just love the idea of it.

Thankfully, my father-in-law is renting a condo and has invited us to go along for the trip.  It will be him and our family---DH, me, and our two boys.  So, I'm very excited.  However, no one likes to plan.  I love to plan.  I want to make sure we do all the things the boys will love.  I want to get to every park, etc...  I'm also a get-up-and-go kind of girl.  I want to wake up and be out of the door at 8/9AM.  DH and FIL...not so much although FIL goes with what everyone else is doing.

Would it be horrible if I figured out kind of a loose itinerary to make sure we get to do everything or is it just not my place?  I just want to have a lot of fun and make sure the kids aren't super cranky.  Or, maybe I should just wait till we get there and then plan it with everyone knowing what I already want to do?  Ugh.  I feel selfish, but at the same time, I want to make sure we all have fun.  Am I being a brat?  Should I just cool it?  I guess right now I'm excited to go so I'm thinking of everything.

Sounds like if you have researched it enough that you could make a loose plan in your head without actually writing it down =) Maybe make a few plans, but not enough plans to fill each and every day?

I would say just that! Ask the rest of the family if they have any plans or suggestions of what they would like to do. I'm sure they will all be very understanding of you wanting to make a game plan just let them be apart of it so they don't feel like your overstepping. I would definitly make a game plan on Disney World. It is so huge and there is so many differant things to do.. goin without a plan you'll end up staying in one park the whole time. Just make sure not to overstuff your plan because that won't make it enjoyable, remember it is a vacation!

LOL.  Yeah, probably.  I found these maps online that you can customize of each of the parks where you can make the places you really want to go to stand out and it helps you plan the flow of the trip.  I don't like planning an activity every minute of the day but the parks are so big there and I want to make sure we have enough time in each one.

My husband practically grew up in Orlando theme parks so my FIL knows them pretty well too.  My only fear is getting out too late then the kids get overtired, then everyone will be like 'Ugh, what do you want to do?'  'Um, I don't know we could ____.' 'No, I don't think we should do that.'  'Hm, you hungry....?'  LOL.  That's how vacations with them go.

But, I think keeping it in my head [and maybe on a spare index card in my back pocket] would be the best idea.  Thanks!!

I got to Orlando every chance I get (2 times this year alone) and it is a great place to vaca with the kiddo's, but my advice to your question is... yes ONLY because it is their vacation as well. Make suggestions, but be open to theirs as well. :)

Okay, I looked around the site and found this section just for pre-schoolers with maps, activities, etc... I'm going to print that off so we know what's there just for the kids at their age.  I'm also going to have it in my head what I want to generally do each day [Epcot or Magic Kingdom] so that there aren't any 'I don't know what I want to do' overwhelming moments.
