First of all I'm not bashing anyone...there are plenty of good young moms that deserve praise and support from us - but I see so many moms in society that have several children before the age of age of 25 ( I personally know a girl who is 24 and having her 5 th - not married/different fathers).  Does anyone else find this sad?  Not just for the children but for the young moms.

Edit:  I actually am referring to moms that start in their early teens and have 4 or 5 kids by age 25.

i really don't concider 25 young anymore to be a mother. I am pretty sure that is the average age these days. I was 23 when we had our 1st, 24 when we had our 2nd and 27 when we had our last. I was also married at 23 (when i was 8 mo pregnant with our first)

Soooo, no i am gonna have to disagree with you there. Not sad at all imo.

ETA oh and i am almost 30 now, and been married 7 yrs in feb, still going strong, so again i fail to see how that is "sad" lol.

I can't really say. I'm 27 with two and we're not much better off than some 19 year olds on this site.

I can only say that for myself, I'm glad I didn't have mine any earlier, but I had my first at age 24 and that was still too young for me.

it really depends on the situation...for example: my cousin is 20, when she was 19, she had her 4th child...all 4 are in diapers (no twins or triplets), they are 3, 2, 1, 2 months...i believe 2 or 3 different dads, lied about being on birth control, lives with her mother and still talks about having sex with guys, on welfare and all that good stuff, and doesnt really take care of her kids..so yea, its the ones like her that i find sad

why is this sad?? im 26 yrs old and have 3 kids. i had my oldest daughter when i was 18. ive been with my husband for almost 9 years. my kids are my life. they are the reason i wake each morning. we live in a beautiful home and my husband works his butt off to take care of us and makes good money. i keep my kids active during the day and we do things together as a family ALL the time. there are young moms who shouldn't have had children and there are also older moms who shouldn't have children. age doesn't matter, it depends on what kind of person you are. don't feel bad for my kids. they are healthy, happy, well taken care of little girls who have alot of love!

Not really.  25 doesn't seem all that young to me.  My mum had me when she was 23 and I had Kael when I was 18.

Having lots of kids within such a short time with different fathers is a little sad but as long as she can take care of them, who cares?

Do you ever feel like you missed out on part of your youth?

I actually find the multi children/daddies situation disgusting at any age.  I think it's a growing trend among younger Mom's but definitely not exclusive to that age bracket!

For me it depends on if they take care of their kids and if they try to be a good mom. I know some moms who were knocked up as a teenager that takes better care of their kids than an older mom does.

I dont think she was talking about people like you. Your situation ISNT sad at all. When you have 2 mature, responsible people taking care of their children and their business that is not sad. I think she was more referring to a situation mentioned in a previous reply where mom is like 20, 4 kids, no man, no job, not taking care of her shit and still sleeping around. THAT is sad.
