If any mommas here are participating in Hijab day, post pics here!
I guess I don't count because I wear it all the time anyway, lol. But here we are! DD looks like her world is shattered because I took her away from Imagination Movers to take this pic! I am such a bad momma, lol!

It is a day that a couple other mommas in Modest Mommies and I decided to organize. It is a little protest for womens right to dress as she wants. Some European countries are banning head coverings (Muslim, Jewish, Catholic, and any other woman who practices the head covering degree of modesty are being forced to stay in their homes or go into publlic without a very important article of clothing to them!)
Or they are proposing a tax on these women for wearing their scarfs.
Women should have a right to dress as they feel comfortable with, so we are doing this small protest that will hopefully grow!

That is insane, why are they trying to ban them? Good luck with your protest, and your dd is adorable.

It won't let me post a pic!!! I tried here and FB :(

I wore mine to breakfast this morning, but no one asked about it... I have to go out again later, maybe people will be more curious when I get groceries :)

A lot of European countires have a "be like us or get out" attitude,
Not every country is as accepting of immigrants or their own people accepting "foreign" customs as USA.
To us, it's a womans rights issue. Telling a woman she can't wear a scarf is the same as telling her she has to (which we also are protesting!)
Women should have a right to choose how much or how little of her body she shows!

Pretty much!
If you asked me to remove my scarf, it would be the same as asking me to walk around topless or in a mini skirt!

Facebook has been having issues the past 2 days! I was trying to update the Hijab Day group and page last night and it took me 20 mins just to get the status update to go through! And we had 7 PM's I still can't get to :(
