Does your dog fit?

How well does your dog fit into your family.  Right now my dog (1 1/2 year old half german shepherd, half lab we adopted from he shelter) was laying on the couch by my feet ( I am sitting crossway stretched out) so both kids climb up on the dog like she is a pillow and cover her and them up to "snuggle".  She just lays there and takes it, and my dd has a growth disorder and weighs 103lbs.  She gives my son rides like she is a horse, and sleeps with my dd and whined when she used to have sleep apneia and would stop breathing. She won't let anyone hit or even play spank the kids, well unless you want our hand bitten off, so protective, yet soo gentle.  So how does your dog fit in?

My lazy ass of a dog has not gotten out of bed yet.

He fits perfectly :)

We can't spank our kids either, lol. Dozer gets in between us when we're just play wrestling and whines and licks us to death until we stop. Any kind of violence makes him nervous. He runs and hides when the cats fight, lol. And he loves my son..he follows him everywhere, even in the bathroom, lol..

He can be a pain in the arse, though..this is what he did to my son's brand new wand (and it wasn't a cheap $5 wand..ridiculously expensive, lol)

This is Marley. He was *my* dog for six years. The traitor has deserted me, though, for the cute blond that will play ball with him for hours on end... lol I used to have a Belgium Shepard that would let me ride around on him. He was more like a small pony than a dog, though!

Our dog is a huge part of our family. She's great with kids, and she goes almost everywhere with me (she's like attached to me, lol). We can't wait to get another one some day.

My daughters Only complaint with our dog is that he won't sleep with her. He is My dog....lol. Otherwise they get along great! He lays beside me on the couch and at my feet on the bed at night. He LOVES my dd and my whole family......kinda leery of visitors but he is a shy dog. Not vicious at all. He hides behind the couch when he gets scared.

Tucker is so much part of the family that I even have split custody arraingments LOL. He goes with my oldest when it's time to see dad.

He is always part of everything. He gets sent to his room too. He sulks when he's left out. He even has sleep overs with his buddy Ditto. (bro in laws dog) It's funny. When we go to the BIL house, my dog won't load up into the truck to leave. That means he wants to spend the night.

our dog is a perfect fit for us. We have a Aussie mix, got him from the sheilter 5mnths ago. He's either sleeping right next to me in my bedroom or the floor of my DD's bed. He follows me EVERYWHERE and lets the kids play alittle rough with him. He doesn't mind when I pull his tail while we play. lol. He will lay his head on my feet while I'm on the computer. I'm so happy we found him and he's a part of the family

We have a 6yr old german shepard mix doggie we adopted 6 yrs ago when she was 8weeks old before my son was born. She is PERFECT fit for our family, she is on the couch next to me right now. I do not allow my kids to be rough with her but kids will be kids and sometimes they are annoying her and she just sits there looking pathetic, LOL but I do make them stop almost immediately. The kids also use her as a pillow to nap, :P

Both our dogs are very much part of the family.

However, Im going to fit my foot in my fur dogs butt if he insists on licking my face all morning while Im trying to sleep.

MOMMY DOES NOT LIKE DOGGIE KISSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh I have a full bred working GSD, who is the sunshine of our lives. He's 2.5 andhe fits right in with us, confident, brilliant and thinks he deserves the world.

when he was just over a year old we adopted indigo a GSD mix who is just over two now.

She had a harder time being part of the family due to her history - which little is known but she was in the shelter 3 months before we got her.

We have had her about a year and a half now, and is now the quirky one in the house. She has finally been comfortable enough to lay with us for short periods. Shes very much attached to my husband (they both are, but hers is comical) because he is the alpha male.

But she prefers to sleep with my son, I dont know why, more room, one boy ona double bed as opposed to two adults and a 115 lb dog on a queen. LOL

But they are both wonderful parts of my family
