Worried...mom's dog is having puppies...& she doesnt seem too well
Ok this dog is a medium sized dog, but her body frame is tiny. The father is rather big. He's a chow, lab mix, he has the heighth of a lab, thickness & head of a chow. Before ppl start going on & on about how irresponsible it was for them to have gotten together...he somehow BROKE THROUGH his fence then through hers while they were at work. Well she is noe HUGE! She looks like a pregnant goat. Idk how long she has been in labor. She was drinking a lot of water & threw it all up. We can see a tiny bit of a puppy, but she doesnt seem like she's getting anywhere. Im really worried about her. My parents arent the type to take a dog to the vet unless its their precious inside dogs. Plz dont bash them I only want advice. My DH was talking about using gloves & getting the puppy out buut we have none. Im waiting for a bit then Im gonna go out & check on her again.
The dad this doesnt do his size justice
Ok look at her head, normally her body is literally that slim

Just keep an eye on her, sometimes it takes them forever. I don't know if I would try to help or not cause if you don't know what you are doing, you could seriously hurt her and the pup.
If the size difference is that great, she may need a vet to perform a c-section. My parents lost a goat because the baby was to big to fit through past her hips. She went into labor sooner than they thought and the vet couldn't get there in time. :(
You may get lucky though and they are just slow in coming out, like the PP said. Careful with pulling them out-if you've never done it before, you could cause more harm than good.
Oh, and take off your watch!! My grandpa used to have to occationally help out a cow on the farm and forgot his watch one day-ended up leaving it in the mama cow!! LOL-he went back in after it :P
Good Luck.
Many dogs do better walking so if she wants to walk let her some will squat and push and it helps them. also if she goes to long between puppies you could risk the others dying and her as well. How long has she had one pup there? Can you grab it?
The size differance is not bad i have seen much worse aas far as size differance. Keep an eye on her but there is a chance she could need a c-section. Call your local emergency vet and talk with them.
I agree

Find a vet thats open on saturday and call or call a 24 hr vet, and ask for advice. They are more than willing to answer questions in my past experience.
I would leave her be. My dog had puppies last year and she wouldn't have those puppies, finally we all left her alone and we were in another room. She came out and we were talking to her and then she turned around, and we saw blood on her leg. We went in the room and she had her first puppy. She came and got us and told us it was there. She was in labor for HOURS and then we left her alone and 3 minutes later she had her puppy. It was already cleaned off. And then just a few mins later she had another. She had 6 puppies, 1 was stillborn. But the entire process from first pup to last was like 9 hours, but of course first puppy came at 10PM... So we pulled an all nighter!
