So I was cleaning my kitchen and I moved my 5 pound electric can opener to clean under it. Well I guess when I moved it the cord fell and hung down. My baby grabbed the cord and pulled it down...it hit him in the head...I feel terrible...I was standing right there and his dad was in the other room...Now he has this big bruise on the middle of his forehead...My poor baby!

These things happen! One time DD was riding her horse up and down the hall while I cooked dinner and I hear a boom and her crying! I told her "You are ok, don't cry" She came to me with blood pouring from her mouth, all down her shirt!
She had busted her lip! I felt like a bad mom! We all have these moments!
These things happen to the best of us. Don't beat yourself up, just learn better for next time and move on. That's all you can do. Just keep a watch on him to make sure he's not more seriously injured than he appears.
accidents happen! my son was about a year old and I had hung a towel on the back of a kitchen chair and he pulled it over and hit him in the head. He was fine and your baby will be ok too

awww! poor guy! i remember over the summer i took ds to my parent's house to visit... he went to go walk up their back steps and then turn around and walk down. well, he got onto the bottom step and thought he was on the ground so he turned to run and instead he fell flat on the back of his head on the gravel! i felt so bad! i was 7 1/2 months pregnant and my reflexes SUCKED! he hit so hard and cried so hard, too. i almost cried right there with him. :(
it happens at some point with all of us.
I'm the young mommy to an active, talkative 2 year old and a smiley, alert 3 month old. :)

Quoting BrittLawless:
Aww poor baby :( Maybe try keepin him in a safe room while you're in the kitchen or have a baby gate up.
we live in a little one bedroom apartment that doesnt allow for a babygate so I have a heavy metal chair turned on its side to keep him in the living room with his toys where I can see him from the entryway of the kitchen...Here is the floor plan so you can see what I mean...My DF was in the living room with him he had turned around for one sec...
