so, i know that in 'most' not all pro life threads, one thing 'most' NOT all say, is that it is playing god to choose whos born like that...

SO.... is it playing god to use fertility treatments???

btw, i myself are agains them, however, ive known people who use them, and thats there life...

ALSO... this is NOT a pro life, pro choice thread...... im just wondering.... about fertility treatments and such...

No, because if it were "God's work" there would be no room for failure.  God doesn't point to us and say "have a baby" and we become pregnant.  We make that choice (with the exception of tragedies).

I did not vote. My opinion kinda falls into an "other" category. I feel it is all prochoice. But when a PL person says abortion is playing God because God makes all life. Then I do reply with the IVF as being the same as abortion. It is all a choice that that particular person has to deal with.

if fertility treatments are "playing god", then so is taking birth control and using condoms.  one way or another, you are taking control of your life and the children you do, and do not, have.

i do have to find it ironic that no pro lifers think its playing god...

so,its ok to play god, as long as it mean to make a baby, but its not if for some reason(rape, health, bc faild)you cant have a baby at this time.....

like i said, to each there own.... but thats all i wanted to know... and i got my answear

I'm a surrogate mother. We just transferred 2 beautiful embryos. The IVF was a gift from god. God gave the doctor the knowlegde to do this.  I'm also christian. So honestly, i don't think it is, becuase the baby created in this process are more then wanted and loved.

I don't think it's "playing god" because anything could be considered playing god. Birth control, condoms, pulling out, and even things that don't have to do with sex. If anything is playing god then what should we do? Just not take any precautions, not take any medicine, not wear seat belts, etc and just hope we dont die? Cause if we do then, oh well. God wanted me to die anyway.

ummm  no, lol.

I personally would never do fertility treatments, I'd rather adopt children that are already here, but I don't think there's anything wrong with them.

I think I'm pro life but I dunno.... there are situations where I wouldn't judge someone for getting an abortion. And those situations are VERY rare.
