beauty pageants **EDiT AGAiN**WiTH NEW ? AT BOTTOM
Depends...natural ones are OK. The ones where the girls get all made up are SICK...IMO. The tanning, fake teeth, fake hair pieces, fake eyelashes, 2 piece swimming suits...all of it is disgusting. I would never put my kids on stage dressed up like a little hooker...and that's how allot of them look. If your kid isn't cute enough to win looking natural...beauty pageants are not for them.
The show on TLC...allot of those girls are really not cute at all without all the crap on them...
We can NOT win a war if we don't identify who the enemy is. We can NOT have a country if we don't have and enforce our borders. We can NOT be a unified country without one common language.
RECESSION: When your neighbor looses his job. DEPRESSION: When you loose your job. RECOVERY: When Obama looses his.
Never have, never will. No child of mine will step foot in a beauty pageant.
I am a Private School sending, Vaccinating, Non spanking, Nightmare Cuddling, Dessert Giving, Homework Helping, Bedtime Kissing, Book Reading, Academic pushing Mum. I believe in the benefit of organized after school activities. I believe in spoiling my children. I believe that I have seen the village and I do not want it raising my child - I will do that, Thank You. I believe that a woman's place is in the home taking care of her house, children and husband. I am submissive and proud, my husband is head of my home. I am a proud, traditional Roman Catholic, as is my husband... Yes we are teaching our daughter that The Church is the only Church. Aimee
No child of mine, ever.
Honestly, I think child beauty pagents are more about mom's needing to feel important, so instead of teaching their kids to be valued and appreciated for being intelligent, smart, capable women they teach them that they have no worth other then looking decent in a bikini. I can't believe parents actually voluntarily put their kids in them.
i voted other because i have a boy. if i had a daughter *I* personally would if she wanted to but my husband said no way. i never did them i think it is bad when the mom is wayyy to in to them and tells their teen to watch what they are eating and stuff like that...just let them have fun for goodness sakes!

i agree. i feel sorry for those little girls most of them hate it. makeup isnt for little girls IMO
I have put my oldest DD in them for the past 2 years and she loves them. It is something for her to do outside her day to day life. She is a tomboy everyday except pageant days. She loves to get dressed up and prance on stage. There are some negative concepts out there about pageants but I think alot of them come from what they see on TV not from actually having ever been to one. She also has one on Dec. 5th!!! CAN'T WAIT!!!
Here is my DD at here most recent one:

She is also in a positive pageant video shes at about 2:09
