Im on hold with the nurse line.going on 32 minutes.. I dont know if i should give up the phone and go to the ER.

My DD Slammed her toe in the steel door. It was bleeding yeterday but today it looks bad and there are red streaks up to her ankle.  Which scares me, Ive had ascending lymphangitis before in my arm.

personally i would take her in. its hard to tell how bad the swelling is b/c i don't know how old she is so have no clue how big her foot should be, but it does look very swollen in that first and second pic, especially around the ankle. i'd also be concerned about the red going up her foot. best bet i think is to take her into the er

Go to the ER. Where I'm from they always move fast at the ER when it's a kid. And better safe then sorry. In my experience those nurse lines are not that great. They will end up telling you to see a doctor anyway.

Me personally. I would give up and take her to the ER. I'm really impatient though

If this happened yesterday, I'd absolutely take her into the ER. The red marks should have been gone by today.

Is she walking on it? Putting any weight on it and limping around? Can she wiggle her toes? From exp with broke toes there is nothing they can do to splint but wrap her foot up and tell you stay off it!

Unless she is in screaming pain and not walking on it at i would stay away from the ER take too much of a chance catching all those yucky germs....try a urgent care in the am if you can. they are always less crowded and get there when the doors open and you can get in and out.

I think red streaks are a sign of an infection. You should take her. Is she in alot of pain?

My husband has broken a few toes and a few bones in his foot over the years, with bad kicks in karate. His dr said wiggling weight etc- is a misnomer about things being broken.

There are so many small bones that can be broken and you can still put weight on it and you can still wiggle some broken toes depends on how they are broken
